Today's loss to Michigan State was not an embarrassment. Nor was it an anomaly. It was reality. Since the exodus of Lou Holtz, Notre Dame has a record of 75-50, or precisely a .600 winning percentage. That's a 6-4 record every 10 games, which is at best in college football, average. No better.

No, there's quite a number of teams that have no wins. Marshall, Rice, Temple, Colorado State, Utah State, and the vast majority of the Sun Belt Conference (La.-M, FIU, North Texas, La.-L, and MTSU) all are winless. Question is, how many of them won't be winless when ND finally picks up a win?buckiprof;938073; said:I heard, haven't verified yet, that as of today Sunday September 23, 2007, every D - IA team has at least one win this year except for NoD/NoO.
Notre Dame athletics director Kevin White said his school has been unable to consider Minnesota for an opening opponent for the Gophers' on-campus stadium in 2009. San Diego State, by the way, was sought as Minnesota's stadium-opening opponent but has been unable to get out of a previous commitment.
