NFBuck and BB73 - I think that both are yet 2 more examples of the "schematic advantage" that Weisminster Abbey was talking about.

In my life I have seen some offensive minds leave a stamp on football. The west coast offense and the no-huddle offense are 2 that immediately come to mind. The genius of Charlie "Schematic advantage" Weis is that he has introduced the no-offense huddle to football.

Unknown substance interrupts ND practice
Notre Dame football practice was delayed nearly 2 hours after a player reported finding an unknown white powdery substance on the practice field. Head coach Charlie Weiss immediately suspended practice while South Bend Police and federal investigators were called to investigate. After a complete analysis, FBI forensic experts determined that the white substance unknown to the players was the goal line. Practice was resumed after special agents decided the team was unlikely to encounter the substance again.

Theory I heard earlier today...

Notre Dame isn't a party school. It's an academic powerhouse.

Therefore, the players they get must be more academically inclined.

Therefore, they must be more studious.

Therefore, they must be more serious.

Everyone knows you can't really play much football if you're too serious. Too much brain, not enough energy and guts. If only they'd put down the books, they'd be winning, easily.

Also, Weiss is a master recruiter because he never sends his staff out to recruit... he does every bit of it himself.
