Although clearly several threads do exist; if I were a Domer (perish the thought), I don't think I'd want to bring up the subject of a team that:

- is from a conference that the Irish just went 0-4 against

- has played in 2 straight NC games while the Irish just set a team record for number of losses

- when the Irish last played them, set an all-time, any bowl game record for most yards per offensive play (9.6 yards per snap)

- has won 4 BCS Bowls, while the Irish haven't won a bowl in over 14 years

Comparing the current state of both programs would just be too painful.

On scout NDCHIEF you know for a fact that most of the threads concerning OSU, once started, are swiftly deleted. Largely because they attract outside Buckeye posters that Irish Eyes does not entertain.

And despite it all I would still not trade teams....
I have been watching ND for more than 5 years so I have seen my share of wins, titles etc.......

Because ND sucks so bad yet is so appallingly arrogant, that we have no choice but to bash their ass. Converesely, no one on ND boards wants to talk about OSU only because it hurts too much to realize just how fucking good Ohio State is (three straight ass-whippings).

There are two reasons the thread "keeps rolling along".

First, your coach and fans talk constant smack and then can't back it up. Just take a step back and think about what would be going on at the ND board of your choice if Tressel was in court "sueing" someone about his failed weight-loss surgery or talking about his national championship rings or schematic advantage. Irish Envy, the name says it all.

Second, the mods on BP work very hard to keep all of the material within threads. We have lots of traffic, compare that to your boards, and we intervene immediately when someone starts a new thread that would belong in an existing thread.

We have a Notre Dame football thread. Because of your coach and fans proclivities, we have a thread for Weis and for non-football talk about the Domer team. In time, perhaps this year or next after you guys fire Weis, we'll just have two threads.

So, the fact that the threads keep rolling is a function of the way we manage the board and the material your coach, team, and fans provide.

Oh, you say you've seen titles? Which titles would those be? Most over-rated team in college football? That is the only one of which I am aware they have won. Oh, yeah, you mean "way back when"?

We're sorry, we'll try and provide a more constant stream of mockable content like your school. Until then, you'll have to stick to board focus smack.

BTW, let me know when you find a 3000 post thread on one recruit. Or a pair of 10,000 post threads on the open board.

Your largest game threads are about 400-600 replies or so.
Our 2006 game threads featured four with 2000, one which had 7000 replies. Six over 1400 replies in 07, with 5000 for LSU (ignoring a number of big LSU tangent threads).

So it's no wonder your threads are smaller.
