I said to our ND visitor in the thread he started that if Freeman couldn’t win this one, they really had to take a hard look at what the have in him.

Well….
Freeman is probably the best young coach they'll get. The way Kelly left, as one of their most successful coaches speaks volumes to his frustration with the administration. They saddled him with Rees last year and blamed the offensive woes on Freeman, they look much better with the new OC, but the better team won last night. ND is a good tier 2 program, but I don't them winning an NC anytime in the near future. Especially playing the sanctimonious route on a constant

100% agree on all the inner workings at ND stuff and their position in the CFB world.

One thing of note for OSU is just how dangerous even a solid opponent with a good run game can be of Day can’t get out of his own way and get 30+ out of his offense.

Just as much as it’s true that this could have been a ND victory if Freeman was a better coach, it’s just as true that it could have been a comfortable OSU win if some things were done better in the coaching department

Yeah, being objective — I think you need to consider the nature of the loss as an ND fan. They showed they can hang with the big dogs. That was just a high level game that someone had to lose and McCord whipped his magnum dong out and made a massive play. I wouldn’t look at it as “they blew it.” That was a borderline historic game and had an overwhelmingly unlikely outcome. I think he has a really bright future as a coach there.

McCord’s magnum dong didn’t put 10 men on the field for the opponent’s defense but I laughed out loud at the reference and wanted to use it.
