Eifert tweet to football recruit could mean Notre Dame violation


SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame tight end Tyler Eifert evidently was excited to meet recruit Jaylon Smith on the prospect's imminent visit to campus. Perhaps a little too excited, as it turns out.

A post on Eifert's Twitter account Friday night may have run afoul of NCAA restrictions on a current student-athlete publicizing a prospective student-athlete's visit to campus, which could be considered an "institutional" violation.
