Notre Dame Fighting Irish (official thread of bowl failures)

With what ND has coming back I would look forward to a bowl game with OSU this season and the next few seasons.

I'm sure that would be OK with Pryor. Huge games against ND are good for Heisman votes.
That would mean you guys made a BCS bowl game, though, and that's stretching it. I know you don't have a killer schedule in '09, but I don't think you're playing HI ten times, either.

Yeah, I remember that game but now that talent is much more even. USC scares me, OSU is not at USC's level.

And I am sure it would be ok with Jimmy as well. Like it or not OSU does not have an advantage at the QB postition.

:slappy:

You ND fans never cease to amaze me. Gotta hand it to you. You all are very good at being optimistic even when you have no reason to be.

Ohio State beats ND by 2 or 3 touchdowns if they play this year.

You guys keep dogging the HI win but most of you thought ND would lose that game.

Tenuta is an excellent D-coordinator, and the Irish problems last year had little to do with their defense. They were all to do with the fact that the D was on the field all the freaking time, since the O was utterly feckless. Kind of surprising given the excellence of the schema that Weis always employs.

With that said, the Irish play a sked that should really result in double-digit wins unless the Irish offensive incompetence continues yet another season. Hard to believe even Weis could fuck up that much talent that completely, but we will see ...

Tetuna will be calling the defensive plays this year and I expect ND to be much more aggressive than they have been in the past. ND is loaded at DB which will also allow for more blitzing.

I keep seeing words like talent and loaded.

You guys sucked last year. Clausen sucked last year. Weis sucked last year. I understand looking at your weak ass schedule and thinking "Hey, we might win some games this year." You got smart and got Syracuse off your schedule. Good move.

Yeah, they sucked exp. at the end of the year then they played up to their potential in the bowl game. IF and I mean IF they play like they can play they could be pretty darn good. That and the fact that OSU has many question marks make me think ND could play with OSU.

For the first tiime in probably years ND has several areas on it's football team that I would rate higher than OSU.
