Notre Dame 23, Syracuse 24 (Final)

I can't believe it.

I turned the game off when it was 23-10. How the fuck did they end up losing that game??

ND fans have to be cutting their wrists right about now. What is going on with that team??

They really and truly might be going the way of the dodo as far as college football is concerned. They have talent, right? I mean, according to the recruiting "experts" ND has pulled in top classes the last 3-4 years, right?

They lost to fucking Syracuse?!?!?!?!?!

They lost because Jeebus Clausen loves to throw pick 6's and ND's Defense blows donkey balls.

That and Charlie can't coach his way out of a brown paper bag....he sure can eat his way out though! :slappy:

South Bend fans shower Notre Dame players, police with snowballs

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame football players were pelted by snowballs from fans sitting in the student section during their 24-23 loss to Syracuse on Saturday.
The game was played a day after South Bend got hit with about 10 inches of snow. The stands and field were clear, but there was snow along the fringes of the field.
At first people started by throwing the snow in the air, but then began quickly tossing snowballs toward the Notre Dame sideline.
Defensive lineman Ian Williams got hit in the helmet, defensive end Ethan Johnson was struck on the left cheek and a St. Joseph County police officer on the sideline looking into the crowd got hit in the chest.
An NBC camera man also was a frequent target and several snowballs reached the field, although none landed near where play was occurring.
When the Irish defense held a meeting on the sideline, injured linebacker Brian Smith stood on a bench to try to shield his teammates. But when a snowball hit defensive tackle Pat Kuntz, he stood and faced the crowd and appeared to challenge whoever threw it to come down on the field.

Obviously some of the fans have a better arm than Clausen.

Charlie is an offensive genius. He leads the nation in going for it on fourth down (he should've learned when A.J. took down Brady in 2006).

Just wait until he gets his own players into the program...oh wait.

Maybe Jimmy needs his hair back.

Turns out there was no pick 6. Whatever you saw must have been called back by the Subway Alum refs. Wasn't enough to save ND, though.

Forgive the stupid question but is it 6 or 7 wins to be bowl eligible? If they are already eligible and lose to USC (finish 6-7) they could very likely still not get an invite I'd imagine.
Six wins, but I'm not sure if 7 losses trumps that. Anyone?

Of course that wouldn't be an issue if we weren't talking about Frontbutt and his boys...

Worse they can finish the regular season is 6-6, which is bowl eligible.

They aren't beating USC, so they're going to finish 6-6 and go to the Sun or the Gator Bowl and get killed.

The USC line may be 21 or something.

NBC announcers made it sound like this was a "massive upset" after the game. No doubt it's an upset, but it's no where near a big upset or one of the biggest upsets of the year. Both of these teams are terrible and neither team has won a game against a respectable foe.

Charlie and the Irish fans' egos rubbed off on their players. All ND had to do was show up and Syracuse was going to roll over. Now the 6-5 Irish face 1-loss USC in LA next week. Ouch.

Still think the Cotton or Gator Bowls take a 6-6 Notre Dame team?
