Well, Randy Edsall did get a win in South Bend when he was at UConn.

But, yeah, this game should still get sucky ratings.

Maryland has been rather discontent in Edsall's first season. The Washington Post just did an article about the unrest among the Terrapins:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/sport...s-discontent/2011/11/11/gIQAaerLCN_story.html

Looks like a number of players don't like his approach and will be looking to transfer at the end of the year.

I thought Edsall wasn't too bad of a coach, he did some decent things with Conneticut. Considering he was left a Maryland team that went 9-4 last year with a bowl win over East Carolina, then went on to beat Miami in their opening game this year, you would have thought they had something to build off of. They've fallen pretty far from there, getting blown out by Temple and some other teams. Their only other win came from a team called Towson, whom I've never heard of.

Maryland beats the spread.

I would have to agree. Notre Dame came out pretty flat against Wake Forest while the Deacons were fired up the first half. In the same way I see Edsall getting his team fired up and will overachieve like he did with Conneticut. They've fallen quite a bit since the beginning of the season, so they may not have enough to overcome even if the Irish come out uninspired, but I think they'll keep it closer than the spread suggests. If you look at the games they've lost this season against ranked teams, they've only lost by an average of 1 score a game and never more than 11 points against those ranked opponents. They like to get up for big games.

ND home game played 9 miles from Maryland campus. Sounds like the [strike]sheep[/strike] ND fans have showed up en masse.

ND scores on their first possession, 7-0.

Maryland, now 2-7, seems to get worse every week. They're wearing the clown suits they wore when the beat The U but I doubt they'll help.
