So many fucking no-talent ass clowns have parlayed this kind of bullshit into millions of dollars......until 100% proven otherwise, I am entirely convinced this was a setup from the beginning to create publicity for Te'o. He'll be getting the Tebow treatment for the rest of his career.

Here's a possible scenario:

Let's say Te'o is homosexual. (While I don't personally approve of that lifestyle, I'm not a LGBT basher, either.)

Te'o is found out while attending the University of Golden Domers. Somewhere in his junior season, people witness him having an all to inappropriate relationship with this guy (Ronaiah Tuiasosopo).

Te'o and his family knows about the backlash that would happen both on the team as well as for the university if it's found out that the star team captain LB is outed as a closeted gay. They come up with this elaborate hoax that he has an absentee girlfriend that you can't see, because she's home....sick.

Unfortunately, for them, Domer had a much better season than expected. The media (ESPN) catches wind of this 'inspirational' story and grabs hold of it. They've got media GOLD. They mention it every chance they get.

IN the meantime, someone who has heard this 80 million times gets curious and wants to find out more about Te'o and this 'girl' - not for negative purposes, but just to find out more about the situation. Their research turns up that there's a possible cover up/lie, which prompts them to email the folks at Deadspin.

Deadspin pokes around on Google, places a few phone calls, and does what most media organizations could have done - vetted the story. They find out the truth, and it goes public.

So, here we are. And now, if Te'o thinks it's rough now....

It has only just begun. When CNN gets hold of this, your life takes on a new direction. Since 7:15 this morning, I've heard this on CNN three times already. They interviewed Timothy Burke from Deadspin this morning.

Just got through this thread and after reading some of the articles about it I think it is one of 2 things.

1. Teo and Tiuaooosooosoiiiiisisiiakjasdnflkaskf (however the hell you spell it) are true butt-buddies and this is his way of making himself look straight. Nutria's take earlier in the thread holds merit, I believe.

2. Teo is truly a fucking moron and got caught up in some fictitious chick whom he thought was real and was just to damn dumb to actually do a quick google to find out more about the chick. From what I have read, simple google searches brought all of the stuff out.

Either way, I could not stand the hype around this above average, but no where elite LB who just so happen to play on an undefeated (reg season) team. The amount of ball gargling for Teo was absolutely sickening since there were at least 3 other defensive players that deserved the hype he got, yet he stole the show.

No straight male human being, let alone a 21 year old star football player, calls someone they've never met in person a "girlfriend" over a 3 year period of time. None. Zero. Zip. Nada. It's incredibly obvious what's going on here.

The theory that T'eo is homosexual seems to have merit and is a topic of discussion that is fine. However, this post constitutes your warning - talk about it like adults. If people start gay bashing and what not, we're not going to hesitate dropping the hammer.

A couple posts have toed the line... not of bashing necessarily, but of "name calling"

My buddy just told me "ESPN said they had the story before the MNC but didn't want to run it until after they talked to Te'o"

I call bull[Mark May] and honestly when was the last time ESPN "talked" to someone before running the story true or false.
