No 3-Peat...Finally, Someone in the Media Gets It

The BCS lost all credibility when it left the top ranked team in the regular season didn't make the title game.

Agreed with the post Oiler.

For me, credibility lost was when a Big12 team wasn't even league champ, didn't even play in the league championship game mind you, and was in the BCS NC game. That may be my Platonic ideal of "credibility lost".

What's the BCS's job? To match the #1 and #2 teams in the country in a bowl game. How does it do that? That's changed over the years. Whatever process it uses will never make everyone happy for long.

I was watching "Cold Pizza" yesterday morning for the first time ever. I didn't see enough of it to make a decision as to whether it was a good show. Some lady was interviewing some guy named "Scoop Jackson." He said something to the order of "The BCS finally got it right." I was thinking, "DUH! The BCS got the only two undefeated teams.. the formula really didn't do anything." In 2002 there were 2 undefeated teams, and the media thought it was the greatest thing ever. The BCS was going to find it difficult to screw 2002 or 2005 up.

If a team loses one game.. one single game.. they can't whine about not being in the national championship game. 2001 Oregon and 2003 USC have the silliest complaints ever. Once any 1-loss team complains that they're "being screwed," I think that they, not the BCS, loses validity.

If you want to make it to the BCS championship game, there's only one thing you need to do: win your flippin' games. (Last year's Auburn team is the only one who has a good argument, in my opinion.)

well even when there is 2 undefeated teams it doesnt make it right. great example being mount union. if mount union were in a BCS system they would not have made the title game this year. they used a playoff system and then won the title. a title to me goes to the best team in the nation whether they are 0-10 or 10-0. if they arent then they wont survive against quality competition.

the best team in the nation...0-10? Would they even qualify?
