I think you are right. I don't really follow other BB boards. And in BB there is always more whining than in football, except when Cryami is involved...:tongue2:

i remember saying that same thing a couple weeks ago. i totally disagree with that sentiment as of now. actually as of the 1 point win against Wisky... these kids have BIG heart, and just keep playing. they don't get caught up in the emotion, that's all.

I had no problem with Oden's fouls, other than maybe a semi-flop on the first one. The thing that was driving me crazy all game was the inconsistency on defending drives. Their guys were sliding to the side with contact on our ballhandlers without a call, but we consistently got called for blocks in that situation. I've never played organized ball, so maybe I was missing something that they were doing better than us?

That said, Xavier played a heck of a game to never allow us to get any momentum until the end. Lots of respect for their team's effort.

i don't "follow" other boards either. i do read them when ohio state is involved, and i'm around fans in the "real world" enough to know that complaining about officials is widespread. complaining about officials existed before the internet, and it will surely exist as long as sports is around.

by the way, i was fine with the officiating. it wasn't perfect. i saw some calls that should have gone our way, but i saw some calls that did go our way. we're not going to get a perfectly officiated game. i'd like to think that ohio state can play well above the officiating when they're playing a team that should be moderately inferior. however good or bad the officiating was today, the team did not play above the officiating.

miller was smart. he forced oden to play man defense against an athletic, driving four who can also shoot from the outside. harris and hunter's corner zone defense was piss poor, and matta was afraid of going back to the zone. we will certainly have issues against the vols if harris and hunter continue to be sucked down to the inside of the zone. with oden inside, there is no reason for it.

the finish of that game was bananas! with 14 seconds to go my phone rings. there are 7 people in the house, and someone else answered it. then Lewis hit the three to tie it up with two seconds left, and everyone yells "OOOHHH!!" at the same time, and dude handed me the phone. so i say hello, and all i hear is "nice way to hit that three, dick. bye." LMAO. it was one of my buddies calling me to talk shit about Ohio State losing, but he called too soon. they might not be pretty, but the Buckeyes are clutch.

On the officiating, on two other boards I read, non-team specific, there are a great number of posts about how Oden's fifth foul should have been intentional/flagrant/lock the guy up in jail. I haven't seen a good replay of it yet, so I can't really comment on it, but the whining from non-OSU fans is a lot worse than I see here.
