I see it differently. I see the staff offering the #1 and #3 DTs in the country recently and feel they are saving that third DT spot for a truly exceptional talent. There are already 13 commitments in this class and I suspect only the elite of the elite will be taken as verbals for the next few months. Hansard is a very good DT, to be sure, but I doubt the staff wants to fill up the class too early.
Agreed. I think Hansard selects elsewhere and the staff likes what they currently have and where they stand currently with Wilson. DT is now a position where we can be very selective and swing for the fences. Hansard is good, but as good as what we currently have committed.
I can agree with that. The coaches have been high on Hansard for quite some time, but the sudden offers to the other DTs seemed like a step back from Fred, IMO. But in the end, trust the coaches... And stand with WadeHansard is the #5 DT per Rivals, and #12 DT per Scout. I'd say that puts him up there with the very top DTs in the country. We may have offered the #1 and #3 DTs, but unless the staff feels really confident with both of them, I don't see them not taking Hansard's commitment. Like Wade said, it looks like he's made the decision, and to me if it were for some other school he'd probably announce already rather than waiting until his birthday to pull the trigger...
