Other than the autographs, is this a normal practice or do they make it more of an event? Dis hte band and Cheerleaders attend last year? Would my son and daughter enjoy it? Thanks!


I am new to the area and new to attending Buckeye football games (but will be there 9/1).

  • Other than the autographs, it's pretty much a normal practice.
  • IIRC, a subset of the band did in fact show up last year.
  • Your son or daughter might enjoy it for a short while, depending on how old they are.
    • IMHO, every child's first memory of The 'Shoe should be an actual game day, complete with the Traditional Ramp Entrance of the band (be in your seats 20 minutes before game time).

Ohio State to fans: Be prepared for heat at autograph session

As the Ohio State football team's open practice and autograph session approaches, the university is urging fans to be prepared for temperatures that could reach the mid 90s.
The event, scheduled for tonight at Ohio Stadium, will begin when the gates open at 5 p.m.
The university encourages fans to bring water with them into the stadium. Concessions will be available, and water will be sold at the top of the ramps (gates 31 and 32) leading down to the field. Vendors also will be at field level selling water, OSU said.
