Night practice (Now Thursday, 8-23 at 8 pm) Gates open at 5

It was somewhat a zoo after gates opened. I would suggest gate 32. Tressel, Smith and Gonzo were set up there last year, and that is generally where most of the security and players enter. It should be interesting this year for field access...could be a free for all.

So the OZone has confirmed that the night practice will be at night?

Fascinating ...

Good thing that's cleared up, people might make fools of themselves showing up for the night practice in the afternoon.

It's a free event, open to the public. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Autographs from the team and coach Tressel is on a first come, first serve basis...and until just this afternoon times that the gates would open hadn't been released.

Maybe not 'fascinating', but kind of important info if you plan on going to this.

Not the spring game. Just a plain old everyday practice.

And they are limiting field access to TEN THOUSAND!

I'll be there.

Do the gates open at 5:15 AM or PM?

Yes just a plain old practice but also an autograph session. There was aprox. 28K there last year according to some reports and I'd say they were correct. And that would be 5:15 PM.

Buckeyes can please some fans but not all

Last year, when Doug Harris arrived in Columbus about an hour and a half before the open practice and autograph session was scheduled to begin, the line of Buckeye fans already stretched long past the Ohio Stadium rotunda.
When the gates opened as I was talking with a few of the waiting fans, I didn't plan on going into the stadium. But I didn't have a choice. The pushing and hurrying from the crowd ? some of which had waited almost eight hours ? forced me in like a wave.

Rob Oller commentary: Try as it might, OSU can't erase autograph mess

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Unlike Archie Griffin or Jack Nicklaus -- shoot, throw Gordon Gee in there, too -- my hand has never hurt from signing autographs.
Big surprise, huh?
But my head hurts every time I hear about another signature event like the one taking place today in Ohio Stadium. The first 10,000 lucky contestants can go home with Sharpie-produced chicken scratch stained on everything from glossy photos to sweaty foreheads.

Autographs/Practice

Last year we had Troy and Teddy and we were ranked #1 and that brought in the big crowd. I hope the crowd isn't as big because I won't get there until about 4 today....and if it rains that may really lower the crowd numbers!
