I was just thinking... Nick Saban is developing quite an interesting wardrobe. He's got the Blue and Gold of Toledo, the Green and White of MSU, the Purple and Yellow of LSU, the Orange and Teal of the Dolphins, the Crimson and White of Alabama...

I predict his next jobs: Raiders (silver and black) followed by Browns (orange and brown) to seal the deal. A different color for every occasion!

Did you know that the "lady" that greeted him with a kiss at the airport was arrested for DUI about 2 hours later? After several public appearences, the Bammers noticed that he hadn't said "Roll Tide" yet, and he appeared to have an affinity for purple or gold shaded shirts. This became the hot topic on their boards, and finally, last night, he uttered the words "Roll Tide" when cameramen caught him leaving a recruiting visit in Mobile.

Alabama's Saban addresses use of ethnic phrase

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) ? As an audiotape spread on the Internet, Alabama coach Nick Saban acknowledged Wednesday using a phrase considered derogatory to Cajuns but said he doesn't condone such language and merely was repeating something a friend told him.

Saban, a former LSU and Miami Dolphins coach, used an ethnic slur Jan. 3 while telling Florida reporters in Tuscaloosa an anecdote about an LSU fan's angry reaction to his hiring.

the more this whole scenario goes on i am kinda willing to bet he knows he made a big mistake. realistically he isnt getting paid anymore than he was with the dolphins, the only difference is he is on a guaranteed contract at bama. he is getting assraped by the media for just taking over the bama job and then the whole debacle with the lying and the dolphins just turned that fire to an explosion of flames for the media to stalk him down and now people record everything he literally says about anything. the whole coonass thing was off record and wasnt even a public interview. and now the coonass cajuns just blows fuel for a from one fire to another. the media has everything they need to make his life hell....especially if they get drubbed by LSU

Holy fuckin' shit. People get spun into the ceiling for the most trivial bullshit. Never mind about what he has done in the past as a coach or leader, if he uses an "offensive term"--in simply quoting another individual, no less--the media horde comes swooping down in full attack formation.

Fuck Nick Saben. At least tell the team you will weigh out your options at the end of the season or something. Dolphins didn't have a chance to do shit anyways, why lie about it? He went about the whole situation incorrectly.

Alabama mum on possible violations

Saban might have made illegal contact with recruits

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Alabama officials would not comment on reports that coach Nick Saban might have violated NCAA rules limiting contact with potential recruits.

The Miami Herald and canesports.com reported that three south Florida junior prospects described conversations with Saban during his recruiting trip last week that might have exceeded NCAA rules limiting face-to-face contact with recruits to "exchange of a greeting" between April 15 and May 31. Coaches are allowed to evaluate high school players at their schools during that period.

If violations occurred, they were likely secondary and wouldn't lead to significant penalties. Alabama spokesman Doug Walker said Thursday the university would not comment on the reports.
