Tight end Nick O'Leary, pass rusher Curt Maggitt and Brissett already have BCS offers in hand. Brissett, who also stars on Dwyer's basketball team, will be the area's top returning quarterback next year. In 15 games this season, he completed 59.5 percent of his passes for 2,212 yards and 25 touchdowns against just seven interceptions.

The Brissett-O'Leary connection resulted in five completions for 106 yards against Niceville (13-1), and the duo will be problematic for defenses next year as well. "He's probably my favorite target," Brissett said of O'Leary.

O'Leary was mostly a complimentary player in 2009, but Dwyer will need him to transition into a starring role next season. "I know what I've got to do and I'm going to do it," he said.

All Tournament Team for class 3A, 4A,5A and 6A
by Charles Fishbein | December 21st, 2009 @ 3:12 pm

One of the most popular things we did last year after each weekend of the state football playoffs was to come up with a look at the top teams and players from that weekend.

...
WR-Nick O'Leary, 6′3, 225. Palm Beach Dwyer: If there is any doubt that O'Leary is a top prospect for 2011, he showed the nation why on Saturday afternoon. He had five catches for over 100 yards. He also had a sack and a tackle for loss on defense.

O'Leary drawing national interest

O'Leary, the grandson of golfing legend Jack Nicklaus, first emerged on the national scene last March at the Miami Nike Football Training Camp in Coral Gables, Fla. During one-on-one drills, O'Leary caught everything that was thrown to him, reinforcing a big local reputation for having great hands.

O'Leary has started to collect scholarship offers. Florida, Florida State, Miami, Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee, West Virginia, Boston College and others have stepped up with offers during the early stages of the process.

"If the ball gets near him, he's going to catch it," Daniels said. "He's got the best hands that I've seen in 20 years of coaching high school football. He's physical, he runs good routes and he's a competitor. I think he's got the chance to be one of the best players in the country."

There are family ties to two programs. Nick's father, Bill O'Leary, played at Georgia, while Nicklaus is an Ohio State alum. "I've always liked Georgia growing up," O'Leary said. "I liked Georgia and Ohio State. Now that I am being recruited and getting a lot of offers, I am open to everybody."

For now, O'Leary is finishing out a season in another sport before the focus shifts back to finding a college. "I am waiting until lacrosse season is over before I even think about it," he said. "We won state [in lacrosse] last year, but we aren't as good as we were last year. It's fun to go out there and hit people and stuff like that."

O'Leary is taking all of the attention in stride. "You've just got to keep your head on straight," O'Leary said. "I've got to keep playing the way I've been playing and get better."

As for Nicklaus, the Golden Bear is a fixture around Dwyer athletics. "I don't think he missed a game this season," Daniels said. "He was at our basketball game [Thursday night] to see [Brissett] play. The kids love him and he's a fan of the whole program here."

O?Leary Talks Schools, 7-on-7
February 26, 2010 by Luke Stampini

Dwyer tight end Nick O?Leary has proven to be one of the top players in South Florida with the toughness he brings to the field, along with his impressive strength and agility. The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder play on the field has landed him offers from numerous universities across the country, the most recent being Rutgers and Marshall. According to O?Leary though, despite claiming to be open to all schools, he admitted five schools were recruiting him the hardest at this time.

?Miami, FSU, Georgia, Florida, them right now, and Wisconsin,? said O?Leary on who he hears from the most.

First I've heard of OSU offering but it doesn't matter...this kid isn't leaving the south...plenty of info on other Dwyer kids in the article like Jacoby Brissett and Curt Maggitt.
