NFL team with worst personnel decisions?

My vote is for the Dolphins. They wasted their 1st rounder last year. Culpepper has not paid off a bit (as many predicted), bailed on Harrington already, about to try to get Brady (IMO), signed old man Porter to a 5 year deal for $30 mil plus...it just doesn't stop IMO.

The only thing they've done right over the last couple of years is keep Jason Taylor happy. Brown isn't a bad back, but the Ricky Williams thing was an embarrassment to the organization as well.

Honorable mention: The Browns simply for their draft picks & unfortunate injuries (which isn't really their fault), ALTHOUGH, Wimbley was a great contributor next year and I think all would agree they got their money's worth from him in his rookie season.

Houston Texans.

I second that statement only because the Texans have just been a team in the NFL for what, 4-5 years now, and its seems like they havent done anything to improve themselves. Stupid draft picks *cough*last year*cough and coaching issues. The signing of Ahman Green does help and it is probably the smartest thing they have done since the franchise began.

Yeah, it is hard to ignore passing on Reggie Bush and Vince Young in the Draft. They will never live that down unless Mario Williams becomes the next Lawrence Taylor and VY and Bush only go on to have mediocre careers.

Not to mention drafting David Carr #1 overall didn't make anyone look bright, and even with Ahman Green, they are overpaying him like crazy (23 million for 4 years), for an older, injury prone back.

The only intelligent thing I can think of them doing is drafting DeMeco Ryans, and hell, even that was probably a dumb fluke.

Can't argue with that... Houston, Detroit, and Cleveland are all right there. Good points about Miami too, but they somehow continue to have a decent record...

the lions had a crap load of injures + shaun rogers' drug suspension

for this offseason, my award for shitty decisions goes to the buffalo bills:

(a) not franchising clements
(b) not resigning baker (leader of their defense, and they have $30 mil in cap room)
(c) signing whittle, and giving a huge deal (hutch $$$) to dockery who isn't nearly as good
(d) they need to trade mcgahee too if they're smart

There are at least 5 teams mentioned so far on this thread who are far worse than Buffalo in the front office:

(a) They franchised Clements last year and promised not to do so this year to avoid a holdout; Wilson & Co are true to their word.
(b) By Baker I assume you mean London Fletcher: he's aging and now overpaid, $30M available doesn't mean a small-market team's going to spend all of it.
(c) Whittle came aboard on a cheap 1-year contract, and I don't see how the Steinbach signing is any better than Dockery at the same price. Langston Walker's another solid addition at T.
(d) They wouldn't get much for McGahee this year anyway (with Rosenhaus demanding a longterm deal anywhere he'd go), and he's in a contract year so they'll get 1 more good one from him.
(e) I'll take Buffalo's drafts over Cleveland's ANY year.
