NFL team with worst personnel decisions?

he was a definite reach in the top 10 and they would've been better off taking leinart. whitner probably could've been taken at 21 instead of mccargo.

Wrong again. Whitner would have been gone by 10-12, his stock was skyrocketing just before the draft. Leinart would not have had the same impact for Buffalo as he did in Arizona, nor as Whitner did on defense. Time to wrap this one up, King.

as good as whitner has been (minus his off the field trouble), a good QB is a much better value than a safety, especially in the top 10

Isn't the point of the draft to get the best player available regardless of value?

Buffalo just took Losman 2 seasons earlier in the 1st round. What's that you say, Losman sucks? I don't completely disagree, but he did have 19 TDs and a 84.9 rating to Leinart's 11 TDs and 74 rating. And a QB's generally going to get a bigger contract at the same draft position as a safety, which is always a concern in Buffalo.

Actually the exact opposite in the top-10. A QB in the top-10 is a monumental risk and can set a program back for years. NFLN has discussed a report done by Savage several times in which they looked at the success of QBs taken early in the draft -- only about 33% ended up being halfway decent.

losman looked terrible his first two years, and leinart seemed the best choice to me...losman did seem to play better at the end of this season.

how hard is it to find a good safety? safeties always fall on draft day (last year was an exception though)
