NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

Just seeing the replays of Mahelse and Reed whining about the call that “cost them the game”. Hopefully the league fines their whiny bitch asses…..
Dude, I am in the same boat. I have been getting tired of Mahomes bitch ass whining for awhile, but this one is just low-hanging fruit. Really the easiest way to just dispel the bitching is two things. One, Toney WAS offsides and the call was correct...granted I even got excited on a really cool play call and TD, the refs got it right. Inquiry ends there really even though I understand the frustration of an otherwise amazing play (cue the authorities asking Abraham Lincoln's wife how the play went otherwise...).

But point two is really as important, I played RB/WR most of my career and from day 1 you are taught to check with the ref that you are not over the LOS. If you are down under 10 seconds with the clock running, you just have to do your best and really no fault if that happens...but that's not what happened. Toney should have checked with the refs to verify he was not over the LOS and he didn't, ergo the call and the loss. If Mahomes wants to yell at someone, it should be Toney in the locker room.

But by all means Mahomes, forget about all the bad calls that went your way like getting extra downs to get to a Super Bowl on penalties that don't exist, barely getting touched for a roughing the passer call on a routine basis, etc. because of a call that wiped out a score that was....wait for it...CORRECT. If you want to open a search on officiating and bad calls the last few years, I don't think you will like where that leads to.

I think some of their frustration boiled over from the non-call PI late in Green Bay. MVS got mugged with about a minute left (not the fail mary).

But griping about the Toney call is childish. Reid even acknowledged that Toney never looked over at the official to see if he was okay.

I get fans being upset over a non-call like that, I was watching live on that one. But everyone at KC except Andy Reid seems to play victim the second something like that happens and block out all the same shit that went their way beforehand in droves. Or maybe it is just Mahomes and his wife, but it seems like the second a call finally went against KC, there was a call for arms. I get what you mean though, that was a bad no-call.

I have no reason to dislike KC and am a huge fan of Andy Reid though. I hope Mahomes can glom onto the Reid wisdom off the field. Part of being a professional is not behaving like Mahomes has in the public. Reid understands what happened after he watched the film and many times it is better to watch the film before starting to point fingers.

I really didn't like Mahomes' interaction with Allen, just bitching about that call as if Allen had anything to do with it. This is the first season we've seen Mahomes' Chiefs have to struggle for wins and he's not putting out a good version of himself in how he's handling it.

You can be mad at the officials, but be a man in the postgame handshake. Every QB in the league has lost a game where a big penalty had a lot to do with it. Mahomes acting like it's the first time because it happened to him, come on man.

Was two games at the same time tonight on MNF in the original schedule, or was one game moved due to a conflict?
Part of ESPNs contract signed back in 2021. They received expanded MNF inventory beginning this year. This will be the new normal in weeks between CFB championship weekend and the start of Bowl season.

There will be three Monday games on Christmas Day. Sorry bout it NBA.

You can review when a referee rules down by contact? Clearly not down and a fumble, but didn’t think that was reviewable.

NFL officials are so fucking bad.

Giants had to challenge that one but the review booth had enough to overturn a 4th down spot earlier that was impossible to tell.

If any of us was as bad at what we do as these fucking clowns are at what they do, we’d either be fired or have the dignity and self respect to quit.

I'm cool with Refs holding laundry when you have defenders already engaged in their tackle form while QBs run to the last possible moment, drop their leverage and slide both feet first hoping to draw a flag.

QBs want to have their cake and eat it to. Light a few of them up, or the NFL needs to make it clear, if you haven't given yourself up at a safer range - you're free game.
