I definitely don't want to put a stop to it. I just want it to not be dumb. The Steelers did hide and seek and it was funny.........so the Chiefs come up with another kids game. And the Vikings come up with another kid's game. Don't be so lazy.Really? The 85 Bears had 4 HOFers and a HOF coach and they made an entire music video. Some of the celebrations are lame, but who cares? They aren't hurting anyone, so let them have it.

I guess I am just old school. I started going to professional football games back in the early 50s in Cleveland Municipal Stadium. Saw guys like Otto Graham, Marion Motley, Dante Lavelli, etc. Also saw Jim Brown and many other guys in his era play and never saw any of the guys that I have mentioned put some act together with their teammates to show off. Spiking the football is one thing but to spend time, no matter how small, practicing little acts together to show off because you scored a touchdown is just stupid. When I watch a sporting event, I watch it for the sport not for some guys to show off and I know that I am probably in the minority and so be it.I definitely wasn't disagreeing with you as much as I was taking umbrage with @LitlBuck' s glib characterization of these guys as "asses" when TD celebrations have been going on forever. To pretend like these guys are somehow worse about celebrations than others is silly. Guys have been spiking the ball for 50+ years; the first touchdown dance was 45+ years ago; the "Fun Bunch" was 35 years ago; the Ickey Shuffle almost 30. What's the difference between then and now?
Could not agree more. Do not remember any Hall of Fame guys putting on a sideshow like these asses of today

Apples to oranges: The SuperBowl Shuffle was a new, original, and unique off the field production; it wasn't a lame endzone antic. It actually reuired musical writing competence, musical (vocal and instrumental) ability, choreography know-how, and produxtion.marketing expertise. It also (supposedly) made some money for some local charities.
I remember in 2005 when Randy Moss got fined $10K for this one,
for what could be construed as just exercising his right of free speech.
But (I guess) as Fungo said "Some of the celebrations are lame, but who cares? They aren't hurting anyone."
