I wonder how much evil, "which we call crime" Ray Lewis has done since the lockout started.

RAWR give me my FOOTBAW!!!Come to think of it, I am getting kind of bored. Who wants to go knock off a liquor store?
While some NFL players are spending the enforced offseason in workouts with their teammates and others (like Minnesota's Ray Edwards(notes) and Baltimore's Tom Zbikowski(notes)) are spending it in the boxing ring, third-year safety David Bruton(notes) of the Denver Broncos has set himself on a different path ? he's spending the lockout as a substitute teacher at his old high school in Ohio, teaching social studies and credit recovery (yes, they have those classes for teenagers now) for the not-so princely sum of $90 per day.
Bruton, who majored in political science and sociology at Notre Dame and received a Bachelor's Degree in 2009, applied for and received a one-year substitute teacher's license from the Ohio Department of Education, according to Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post.
"I'm just trying to keep busy," Bruton told the Post, "and it's nice to be able to give back to my community."

Despite recent developments in the labor battle that are seen as positive by some, the NFL is planning for a regular season as short as eight games, the Sports Business Journal reported Monday.
The reported plan essentially means that in order to have a 2011 season a new collective bargaining agreement would need to be reached no later than early November.
Under the reported plan, the eight-game season would start in late November and culminate with the Super Bowl in Indianapolis Feb. 12. The NFL has previously cleared the way for the Super Bowl to be played as late as Feb. 12.
The league is looking to give teams five weeks before the season to sign free agents, hold training camps, and possibly play preseason games.
According to NBC Sports' ProFootballTalk, the NFL has said it needs at minimum three weeks between a deal and the start of the season, making early November the latest possible date for a labor agreement

I think I would rather see replacement players or just no season. :(

I always think championships are more interesting when there's no history between the teams at season and with fewer common opponents.

Meanwhile, SI.com has learned that Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson is the only player among the 10 plaintiffs who has yet to verbally sign off on the proposed settlement. His support is mandatory before a new collective bargaining agreement can be finalized.
Yahoo! Sports reported Tuesday that Jackson -- who was denied unrestricted free agency last year because of changes to the free-agency rules in the uncapped year -- is seeking either a $10 million payment or a guarantee of unrestricted free agency in 2011 before he'll give his consent.
