I held my daughter when she was like a half hour old. I mean shit, we had great nurses, but there wasn't a fucking person in that hospital that was more careful than I was with her.The hospital staff is allowing you son to hold/carry a baby less than a day old? Call me overprotective but that sounds a little scary.

Leading up to the day, I kept having nightmares that I was going to sneeze while holding her and her eyes were gonna pop out of her head.
I also held my both daughters right after their birth, but allowing a kid (I'm assuming his son isn't in his teens yet) to hold an hours-old newborn is a different matter. I remember the nurse first showing me how to hold my first daughter and then proceeding to hold her like football along her forearm and swing her around a bit to show "how safe it is"...it was all I could do to keep from strangling her once she gave my daughter back to my then-wife.
