Anyone have any experience with the Purple? I see so many ads for the Casper, and given our current mattress is 16 years old, I've been researching the bed-in-a-box and memory foam-type alternatives that are exploding in popularity today, and the Purple really has me interested ...

Tuft & Needle was the place they purchased from.I can say this: my ex wanted some expensive mattress, which we got. I don't actually think that was expensive for a typical mattress, but it definitely seemed like it to me. Anyway, it was also a pillow top. That SUCKS. You can't flip it for rotation, so it develops grooves from consistent sleeping patterns and continuous rough sex in the same areas, and there is little you can do about it. Plus, I don't like the pillow top thing for comfort.
On a better note, for much cheaper my dad and his wife, who are picky on this stuff due to back pains, etc., bought a very frugal mattress from some online place. It is similar to a tempurpedic. (sp?) It comes in a manageable package, and when you unseal it in unvacuums into a bed, kinda cool. They love it so much they recommend it to everyone. I can get the name if you want to google it and read reviews.
That's my girlfriend's thing. We bought a Ballegio from Serta. Super firm if that's your thing.
Turned mine upside down anyways, got a mattress-topper from Bed, Bath, and Beyond and good as new.I can say this: my ex wanted some expensive mattress, which we got.
