I have read all of the books and enjoyed them.

After seeing the recent movie (#5), I wanted to re-read #6 before the last book came out. That only took a bus trip to C-Bus and back the previous weekend . :tongue2:

Did the same thing (without the bus trip) and completed reading Deathly Hallows Sunday night.

Harry is pure Blood. His mother was muggleborn. A half blood is one who only has one magical parent. (Voldemort's mom = witch, dad = Muggle.)
Nope BKB Harry is not pure blood. Lily was not pure blood, thought James certainly was. Because Lily was "Muggle-born" Harry was half-blood.
Had the line died out with Harry then he would have remained a half-blood (hence BTW the point of the prior book "The Half-Blood Prince," both Tom Riddle {Voldemort} and he being of equal stature on blood status).

The Potter family line though was restored to Pure Blood status by his revealed marriage to Ginny in the present book - because all four of their grandparents were themselves wizards.

I've read all of the books, and I'm not ashamed of it.

I read the first 3 when I was about 10, so it led me to read the 4th when it came out, and so on and so forth.

I know it may seem like a "kid's" book, but I'm not gonna lie, some of the stuff in the last couple (especially the last) of books is pretty mature. I wouldn't be surprised at all of a lot of parents not wanting their young kids reading it right away, which is ironic, because the first few started off as pretty G-rated.

Sex sells.

Anyone who claims it is a children's book is generalizing based on the broad fantasy topic of witches and wizards and hasn't read the books. They are an amazing read no matter the level.

I really liked the ending, except for the very last chapter (we all knew it was going to happen, no reason to waste the pages.) It solved all the major plot secrets, but didn't go overboard.

I stayed up 'til around midnight last night to finish. Great books, great ending.

I loved the pensieve (sp?) scenes towards the end. Tied some things up nicely - though I kinda figured .... well, I won't spoil anything I guess. :p

I'll be interested to see if J.K. Rowling writes anything else. You know, when she's not out spending her billions.
