New DC Thread (Merged all relevant)

Yeah I just don't know if Heacock would fit the role of DC??? I don't know enough about him though so what do I know? I like the Idea Of Tucker or Pugac as coordinator.... I just hope they don't change much so the kids don't have to learn a new system

there is another thread that claims that the decision has been made and Jon Heacock HC of YSU will be named DC.

is this just speculation or has the decision already been made?

In any event these threads should be merged

Is this speculation (based on a reliable source) or fact? sounds like it is a done deal if he has already started the transition.

When I read Alan's statement in another thread that said remember to always be buckeyes and to trust coach tressels decision...I had a feeling Heacock was the selection....I don't think it will be a popular one among fans.

Youngstown is a fine program on that level, they can recruit as well as anyone pretty much. Ohio is a fine place to get some talent too. I don't buy that excuse.

Word from other places is Tucker gets first shot and Blackney is on the short list. Word of Davie, Pellini, and others seem to be more wishful thinking from fans than anything concrete.

Seems that Heacock has been the frontrunner from the get go, so it is not a suprise. Remember, a coach can go from rags to riches in a matter of 1 or 2 seasons. Just ask Bill Bellicheck, who will got down as one of the finest coaches of modern history, who also happened to be fired from Cleveland. You never know. :wink2:

Nevada has posted twice tonight in the rumor mill that it is tucker's job to lose (whereas they all thought tucker was not in the mix as of this morning).

If you want to join the rumor mill, go to User CP, then along the left side click on Group Memberships and then click join group for Rumor Mill. Your application will be approved fairly soon after.

Hats off to Nevadabuck, Helpinghand and Alan for their help through all of this. It has been awesome to have them giving us tidbits of intel that are provided for the sake of buckeye football rather than profit.

As long as the new D coordinator has pulse he should be successful at OSU, especially this year.
