That's a heulluva car - General-Lee speaking.

Sorry, just saw that movie yesterday.

'General Lee' auction ends at almost $10M

If bids are real, 1969 Charger owned by actor John Schneider has sold at close to a record for any car.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- If the bids are real - and the eBayMotors.com auction was stopped once for fake bidding - a modified 1969 Dodge Charger, painted to look like the General Lee from the TV Show "The Dukes of Hazzard," nearly became the most expensive car ever auctioned.
The auction closed at $9,900,500 at 1:00 pm Friday. That puts it just $1.1 million away from the $11 million paid for a 1931 Bugatti Type 41 Royale Sports Coupe sold by the auction house Christie's in 1987. To date, that is the highest price ever paid for a car at auction, according to Christie's.

I'm going to be in the market for a vehicle probably before the end of the year. Anybody heard anything good/bad about the Toyota Yaris?

All Toyotas are well made cars. And the Yaris is pretty quick for a econo car.
I would get a Scion model instead. More room and utility.
Another option which I find attractive is the Honda Fit!

Wife's '97 Taurus is at 185K miles and we were faced this week with the reality of putting new tires and tie-rods on it ... $800 worth of work for a $500 car. It's becoming a recurring theme ... transmission rebuild a couple years ago, etc ... etc ... Since she's doing the commute from Lancaster to C-Bus every morning, we started looking around for a newer, more fuel efficient ride. Wound up driving home an '06 Hyundai Sonata for $12K off the lot. We'll see about the warranty (single owner repo, resale warranty lowered to 5-year, 50,000 mile), but JD Power, Consumer Reports, etc etc all gush about the Sonatas, particularly the redesigned model years starting with the '06.

I'm ashamed to say it actually drives better than my Camry, and I have the loaded XLE. Impressive car for the money -- has everything the $30K and up Camry, Accord, and Altima have for half the price.

It's a freakin' Hyundai!
You'll get tired of things coming loose/falling off.
You'll need that warranty!
Better to buy a stripped Toyota/Honda than a loaded Hyundai!
We test drove a stripped Honda first. Uh ... no.

The Hyundai warranty/QC issue was a thought running through my head when we looked at it. Quality and reliability have gone up significantly in the recent model years from everything I have read.

I guess we'll find out. :)
