Finebaum appear to want to denounce the Big Ten, cast it aside, and prop up the SEC. But why? What benefit does this give?

Finebaum benefits in the wallet since his show and all of is work is done in SEC country. His readers/listeners don't want to hear about new rivalries and teams undergoing a renaissance because of they switched from the Big XII to the B1G.
Many of them would rather talk about the 2012 Alabama Spring game before talking about #7 (who shit the bed the rose bowl) vs. #8 (who lost to Washington in their bowl game).

So it's not necessarily Finebaum that is at fault, it's as much that SI shouldn't publish stuff from obviously biased sources, n'est-ce-pas?

Certainly.
Can't fault the man for making an extra buck doing his life's work for a larger publication. Throw your scorn at SI instead - where the blame is warranted.

Rest assured, his message would be the exact same if the circulation didn't extend beyond Nashville or Baton Rouge.

Also, CBS still has SEC games. Dodd, like those hacks at ESPN, has a corporate agenda to trash everything not SEC related.
Yep. Like back a few years ago when ABC was pimping USC hard because they had the Pac-10 broadcasts. Self interest is not a new concept.

Definitely Nebraska.

1. Wusscuntsin went unbeaten OOC. therefore, they go to the CCG if they finish with the same conference record as tOSU. So, a loss evens the slate. Puts the Buckeyes destiny back in their own hands, so to speak.

2. Fuck Bullimia. He's a fucking waste of goddamn space, shit eating, ass munching, dick chowing, pig fucking, horse raping, micro-dicked asshole.

3. I'm not worried about Nebraska winning the B1G. Because tOSU is going to beat them in the CCG.

Somewhere, Cletus would agree, if only he could read these sifers.

Strangely enough...Whiskey makes me want to vomit while I am pretty much neutral towards Nebraska right now but I'll still be rooting for Whiskey just because I don't want to hear the "See this shows that the Big Ten was weak!" crap if Nebraska wins.

so you are more concerned about what a talking head might say than winning our division?
