Game Thread Nebraska @ Ohio State - 11/03/18, 12:00PM (FOX)

OSU fans wanted to see a running game, better LB play and competent safeties. There was a lot of growth in two of those areas.

Wade and White were not perfect but showed some nice potential. The LBs meanwhile continue to look like Madden when you guess wrong before the snap and tell your D to collapse the wrong way.
There was a play in the 1st Q where they threw a quick screen to a WR after sending somebody in motion. Wade was probably 8 or so yards from the WR at the time it was obvious that's what the play was and where he needed to be. Wade ran in almost a straight line directly.........to 4 or 5 feet to the left (his right) of the WR and ran himself completely out of the play. What in the fuck is he doing?

For sure. Eliminating the rpo is a step forward and gives me hope that the offense can find better balance.

The safeties look better with White/Wade, which is great. What’s not great is that poor cornerback play and the shit show that is the LBs will continue to allow things to get to where we need the safeties to stop gigantic, game-breaking plays.

So slapped by 1 girl ... doesn't respond... and big girl has to push him down the bleachers?
Gee I'm sure glad we have feminism these days to make sure we're all equal ...
Maybe she should report him to the Powell PD and call McMurphy about it too?

It looked to me like he spit at the girl before she slapped him. That's just effing gross.

Fuck that - dude had it coming. Disagree and act stupid in the stands but when you start to spit and do stupid shit you get what's coming to you.

And UFM needs to get that chick on the D-line. She's a beast.

Ummm, YES, they did.

I am not trying to respond aggressively to you or anyone else, or to be negative. However, this is exactly the kind of thinking that is hurting Ohio State. Despite putting almost unmatched talent in college football on the field, we need to objectively think about what Ohio State might have learned from a game against Nebraska.
  • Ohio State managed just 229 yards rushing.
    • Coming into the game, Nebraska ranked last in the B1G, with opponents averaging 298 rushing yards per game.
  • Ohio State managed just 266 yards passing.
    • Coming into the game, Nebraska ranked last in the B1G, with opponents averaging 272 passing yards per game.
  • Ohio State managed to convert 33% of 3rd down opportunities.
    • Coming into the game, Nebraska ranked last in the B1G, with opponents converting 41% of 3rd down opportunities.
Nebraska's average performance includes games against powerhouses such as Bethune-Cookman, Troy, and Colorado.

The Buckeye coaches and players better have one hell of a plan and play mistake-free, disciplined football against Michigan State, or it is going to be a beat-down of note.

We have nothing to lose by throwing Browning in there full time
At least there's an upside
Cuz what we're doing ain't working

And watching the MLB play on both sides of Bama and LSU... I'm so jealous I'm pissed
I see our LBs beat every time they are in coverage
and M Wilson picks off a well thrown ball... in the end zone

At this point, this shouldn't be taken as an insult, but we should start preparing for what NY6 Bowl we'll be in. Idk if we're winning the B1G, but if we do, I could still see the committee putting in a 2nd SEC team(LSU) over tOSU with the way we lost to Purdue and so many close games to teams that we should've blown out.

29-0 shutout at home will still hurt LSU even if it was Bama and Florida just lost. I say actually prepare for the team they are playing this week. It's Sparty week.

Yeah, but I worry that the committee still has the 31-0 Clemson beat down in their minds. LSU lost to the clear best team in country, they won't fall far.
Prepare for Sparty, but don't be surprised if we're playing Wazzou, ACC- runner up, SEC runner up, etc in a NY6 bowl

The most disheartening part is this is coming off a bye. This is how they respond? Last year we demolished a top 15 MSU team the week after Iowa. This year we get taken to the brink by a 2-win team with 2 weeks to prepare. Schiano and Davis can't leave soon enough and I'm not thrilled with Studwara or Grinch's units either.

This team got throttled vs. Purdue and had to rally to beat a 2-6 Nebraska...I would gladly take a NY6 bowl right now.

This

It honestly seems like the longer this coaching staff works with these kids, the worse the performance gets.

Can't fire players.

Injuries! Injuries! Injuries! So much depends on if kids can overcome or not get injured. I thought Brenden White despite his talent would never get on the field with the starting defense. Okudah has been injured and that has slowed him down. Wade may have even more talent than Okudah but got hurt last year. Of course we lost one of the best guys in all of college football right when he seemed to be unstopable. We've been "plugging in kids" all year. There is bound to be a "limit" to performance when you do that.
If kids aren't able to go how can you blame the coaches?
