Bingo. They are as head-shoulders above the rest of the conference right now as we were at any time under Tressel. That's a combination of Wiscy being really fucking good and the rest of the conference being shitty. I cannot recall any time over the last 40+ years I've been watching football where the entire conference--save one or two teams--has been this down.

Is this indicative of the Big Ten, or a night game against Wisconsin at Camp Randall?

Nebraska looked like dog ass last night, but aside from Wisconsin, there isn't another team in the Big Ten that has looked impressive. I'd say we have a legit shot to win every remaining game, so this loss doesn't foretell anything for me.

However, if we do not get our collective head out of our collective ass on defense, this will not be our only Big Ten loss. We've looked pedestrian against every team this year, not just Wiscy.

No disrespect intended with this statement, but I think you guys got a coaching problem.

I don't think Pelini is the guy to take you where you want to go.

That is a fair assessment. The honeymoon with Bo is definitely over. If he can't fix this defense then there are significant problems, considering defense is his forte.

He's still early in his head coaching career. But for all his talk about execution and discipline and accountability, we're not seeing improvement in many of these phases. And the bottom line is, he's not exhibiting the traits he expects from his players. You're not going to get a lot of respect from guys when you don't walk the walk.

No problem we're seeing from Nebraska is unfixable. I have confidence that we can still turn out a fine season - heck, we are definitely still in it to win the Big Ten. But it's going to take a fundamental turnaround from the top down or this won't be the last game we're trounced in.

Eh, right now, I'd say MSU will beat you and UM has a darn good shot. Illinois maybe too, if you play them.

I agree. That's why I've never wanted him to replace Tressel.

I think they may have a shot. I think that either LSU or Alabama will be in one slot and the other slot will go to either Oklahoma, Stanford or Wisky. I think Oklahoma is the team most likely to lose a game or too. If Stanford can beat Oregon they have it made. If both Stanford and Wisky go undefeated it'll depend on that old BCS formula and you never know what will happen with that. Boise is there too just waiting for them all to slip up.
