As a fan of both Nebraska and Ohio State (born in Omaha, graduated from OSU), tonight's game REALLY made me appreciate Tressel and Pryor.

1. Remember when Martinez and Robinson were doing so great early in the season? By season's end, both were limping along. I'm glad Tressel doesn't call a ton of designed runs for Pryor.

2. For the grief Pryor still gets about not being a polished passer, he is light years ahead of Martinez. Also, while Martinez is a lot better at designed runs (when healthy), there are few QBs out there better than Pryor at keeping a passing play alive -- to eventually make a completion, or get yards with his feat. Watching Martinez clam up time after time tonight drove me up a wall.

I get what you're saying, but I also don't think Martinez is the standard that we set for Pryor or any other QB at Ohio State. Martinez may have been the worst non-Georgia Tech QB (Reggie Ball, Josh Nesbitt) that I've ever seen.

They had better find a QB between now and next fall. As it has been pointed out, that schedule next season looks brutal.

Watching the corntards last night, I was struck by how fragile Martinez looks. Robinson couldn't make it through a full Big Ten season healthy, and I really see can't envision Martinez surviving past the Wiscy/Ohio State games.

I'm amazed the amount of times Martinez carries the ball especially with Helu and Rex in the backfield.

You look at Tommy Frazier, Frost, and Crouch in the past. They made it through seasons but they had some damn good running backs to help them out.

Robinson played every game. It doesn't mean much though when you only play half a game and he is the best player on your team.

I had high hopes on this game for a number of reasons. Needless to say, Martinez is a lost cause to me. Never have I been so underwhelmed. While watching the game, I kept asking myself why they didn't just let Rex run the entire O. He would have done better in the passing game and was well ahead in the running dept. I left confused with some of the decisions by the brothers Pelini.
