NCAA2011 (PS3) 3rd Annual BP Online Dynasty

btw, I'm getting totally fucked in the post season recruiting. Had a soft verbal from a 4 star athlete after an A+ visit and he commits to friggen Texas A&M the following week. Oh well, I'll offer these two 2 star jackasses and see if they can be sleeper picks.

Hmmm, maybe this comes off as petty as I still have the #1 class....

Yea, they suck alright. My class has 1 player who will see backup time this season at FS. (#4 FS rated 78 overall). Outside of him the next highest is 74 (converted Athlete at a position that isn't a need) and the majority is in the 60s.

My hope was the #8 QB who was a scrambler who is rated a pathetic 68 with a 71 accuracy rating. Funny, if I switch him to WR he's actually a 76, but that is my deepest position group. To put it in perspective, the QB I recruited for the bad teams league was a low 2 star has a better accuracy rating and and a slightly lower power rating. Both are scrambling QBs.

All my OL and DL are rated in the 60s, which was my biggest need.

My recruits weren't that bad. Actually had a couple 2* guys come in with a 68/71 rating. It's called scouting people

Not to give away secrets, but you all have to look at the attribute grades to find the hidden gems. Found a 2* guy, rated 180th OLB but he was 240lbs, insane acceleration, but slow 40 time for a LB. But the key was he had a very good Block Shedding rating, figured he might turn out to be a decent DE. While he was a 58 OLB, I didn't recruit him for that position. He turned out to be a 71 rated DE

I know this first season took forever. Mostly my fault due to me in the middle of moving to a new house. This week will be rough, will try to keep advancing somewhat timely. But after this week it should get better as I settle into my new home.

You aren't lying. If I remember correctly, this is still from the original crappy recruits before all of the updates and fixes; right?
Once I found out that the recruits were garbage I dramatically changed my season 1 recruiting strategy. I started targeting states instead of individual recruits, and focused on 1 and 2* recruits from target states...regardless of positional need. Western Kentucky already had pipelines to Florida, Texas, Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee. Since PCU is located in New York, I started targeting New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and California. I also made sure to beef up my numbers in Florida, Georgia, and Texas so I could keep my pipeline status in those states. I ended up with all of my original states plus New York and New Jersey as pipelines, and I was only one recruit from pipeline status in Pennsylvania and Ohio. Cali was kind of a lost cause.

I tried something similar with Houston, but I started it too late in the season to make any real headway into any state other than Texas.

Now that the season is over... I did something similar. I tried to sure up my pipelines. Ohio University has some sick ones as they have pipelines in California AND Florida to go along with PA, Ohio and Nebraska (along with Virginia)

But what I also did was short change my recruiting. On purpose I went short on recruits so I can get the full 25 for next year to make up for the crappy recruits.

Yea, I'm going to overcut my recruits this season to try to get some better interest. There's no way these guys will be better than any freshmen I recruit in the future. If they didn't screw up the incoming recruits this season I would have had a great class.

I was surprised to see some of my recruits come in so low when I remember why I recruited them in the first place. I did the best at FS, SS. I failed miserably at all LB positions and the DL and OL. I could not find a DE with any speed at all that had interest. I haven't fully checked to see if my LBs can switch to that position for this season or not. The part that sucks is that I landed, I believe, four 4 star DL (2 DTs and 2 DEs). Maybe 1 of them is salvagable.

The recruiting is so different than 2009 in terms of who you know will be good and not. I think that's a good thing as it was too easy to recruit back then, but it sucks right now for me.

My 10 4 star recruits probably average around a 71 in ratings.
