Short a few OL heavy a few DE and CB

I assume you used the BYU default roster to edit those players right?

Did you have to use the BYU roster to edit? Or could you use another teams roster as default so you can maybe get closer to the numbers you need to get all your guys on the team?

Can you tell I haven't really played with Team Builder much?

I did not use BYU, I used there generic roster to start. The problem would still be there because I recruited heavy at certain positions and lighter at others. The CPU defaults more OL and DL where I am traditionally lighter, but heavier on WR/CB.

You can use any of the roster templates, because every other part of TB is separate from the rosters. I was in the process of using Navy's roster to build my last UK team as my High School team, because it was the closest to my roster...then I got bored.

Ok, almost heard back from everyone. Here is the breakdown so far.

Box_Car - OUT

WOOD - Oklahoma State via Team Builder
Smooth Olaf - Army via Team Builder
Fanatic - BYU via Team Builder

Piney - New Team
buckeyemania11 - New Team
basebuck - New Team
Whobe - New Team
Iron - New Team
BN27 - New Team

msj - Haven't heard back from him yet

Now some guys have said they have preferences to either re-use their old team (just the 2010 version) or picking a specific team. So we do have to figure that part out. So should we let them do that? Or to be fair I'll draw names out of a hat and put together a draft order.

With people getting the game tonight I hope to get a list of teams and their overall rating. Also will upload the team builder teams created by Wood, Olaf & Fanatic to see how that process works (and to get their team ratings) Depending on their ratings I might up the previous number we used (79) and maybe factor in prestige rating (Example, teams rated 84 or lower excluding X Prestige level) to kinda even the recruiting playing field if need be.

Any thoughts?

Also, I plan on starting with the default All-American setting (6 or 7 min quarters). Most likely after one season depending how things are going and what type of slider settings are out there we will adjust like always (keep in my the sliders as of now are broken and there is a patch that will be coming soon to fix that). If there is a good All-American set of sliders that can keep the games from getting out of hand I prefer to stay in that area. But if we see 100-7 type scores then the move to Heisman would be inevitable.

Does that mean I get to stay in the Big12?

Yep

Was going to mention the conference issue in that big post, but thought it was big enough. So will talk about it here.

Okie St is in the Big 12
BYU going to the Pac10
Army will go where we need him. (Big 10, ACC or Big East is my first thought)

So for drafted teams if someone would pick Washington State then the Pac 10 is 'full' if another person wanted Washington they would be relocated to another conference. Likewise for the Big 12.

If someone would pick a non-BCS team then they can call out the BCS conference they want to be in, an example... I pick Ohio University and want them in the Big Ten. But those picks can be overruled to balance the conferences. Like if no other team is in the Big 10, then I would move Ohio to the conference that helps balances everything out.

At least that is my thought regarding that. Of course like if someone wants their old team back, do we force them to draft them? Or give them special treatment. Like is MSJ (who hasn't responded yet) doesn't want to carry over his old ECU team, but wants to be the 2010 version of ECU, then do we let him have it? (as long as that team isn't rated that highly) Then again that would be an issue if BOTH mania & basebuck want their old teams back. If only one wants their team back, do we do it? Or force the draft to make it fair?

Thoughts?

FYI, Army's team ratings are B-, B, B-, but that's before I tinker with the depth chart.

I just tried them out against this year's Navy team. The flexbone is FUN! I don't know how well it'll work against human opponents, but I had an absolute blast with it against the CPU. I'm actually going to have to take fullback recruiting seriously.

I like the idea of having those of us that didn't make our teams enter a draft. The available teams would have a max rating of a B-. If you go any higher than B-, that would be a little unfair to the guys that took the time to create their old teams, since Olaf and fanatic are both a B- themselves.

Why? Didn't I win the toss on this one? If I stay with aTm don't I still get choice?

Yes you won the coin toss, but that kinda becomes null and void since you didn't create Texas A&M. Of course if you create Texas A&M then you would have your spot, and if buckeyemania then chooses to create Colorado then the coin toss becomes valid again.

Yeah, didn't want to go too high with the ratings. I think it works good to have not so great teams so you do have to build your teams up. Olaf, Fanatic & wood should reap those awards of creating their team via Team Builder. Then again I don't want to punish the guys that didn't build their team, so I like the B- rating to pick from.

Seems like there are no number rating of teams, just letters... sucks eh? Unless I didn't look in the right place. But if we go by letter grade, B- and below means we cut out 35 teams (ie 35 teams have a B or higher rating) There are 11 teams that are rated as a B- if we want to cut another layer out.

Of note... I want us to be able to begin the draft no later than Sunday. So the sooner we can solidify these plans, the quicker we can get teams picked.

I am really hoping there are some named rosters by the weekend so I can send out invites Sunday/Monday.

It looks like they went with grade ratings across the board. All recruiting attributes have been changed from Elite to Poor, to grade ratings (A+ through F).

Of course, that's how the TB site was setting recruiting ratings, but now we know for sure that they changed it.
