Yes, I am Purdon't. I dont travel this week (however, I do next Sunday - Wednesday), so I am game tonight or this week...

One more complaint with the sliders..

It seems the player gets punished for trying to make a play.

I'm better off not switching to a DB or switching to the closest defender because the CPU has a better chance of making the INT or tackle.

I don't like that my CPU players are better than the ones I control..

Second, why do we need to adjust the sliders on Heisman at all? I can understand why you adjust them on Varsity, or All-American... why not play straight Heisman?

Also, where can I find the slider settings in this thread? This way I know what the heck is going on..

That's more than one complaint. :biggrin:

Sliders are listed in the first post of this thread.

I don't know what to tell you about switching players. I haven't had that problem.

"Straight Heisman" is just as easy to manipulate, IMO, as Varsity or All-American. I don't care what level we play the game on. I just want to find a setting that will give most players a challenge, without making it impossible.

OK, it's time for me to bitch.

I didn't want to drop the MAC. I was having more fun with that league than the other one. I thought the point of the MAC was to play with crappy teams, since we could all play with good teams in Piney's. Yet that's the same reason people wanted out. I jumped for joy when I got 2 4* kids to come to Temple....that was the fun part. I know Temple sucks and I didn't expect to win every game, but I made them more fun to play with.
Before you say it....I wasn't about to be the only guy who said no and prevented everybody else from doing what they wanted to do.

Switch to a Pac10/Big10 dynasty....with sliders that make you want to jump off a fucking building. Wow....this is fun. Now I can play with a team just as good as my team in Piney's league...except I have to play against human opponents who are 50 times better than me. Why are they 50 times better than me? Because they've all found the little exploits that make playing this game not fun. I could drop back 40 yards with my QB and throw a ball to a WR who eventually gets open because nobody can cover for 20 seconds. That's not fun to me. I could bring up some funky ass defensive formation and move my fastest guy to safety and just run around in the backfield. That's just not fun to me. It's fucking stupid. What's the point?

So what happens in the first week? Everybody finds out the sliders are kind of stupid. And they're changed. After the first week. Because consistency is apparently not important. Fuck....let's change up the sliders in the middle of the season again. Then...let's have people switch teams from one conference to the other after the first week. Why the hell not. It's not like we had any kind of smooth consistency with the MAC league. Oh wait....we did.

I don't like this shit at all. It's not fun when I have to play a flat out flawless game just to be in it, and the second I make a mistake it's turned into a TD by my opponent. WOOD had 1 turnover against me....and that's because I switched to the DB and picked it off myself. Other than that....he just took anything he wanted. I had 2 or 3 INTs against him. They weren't awful throws. One was to an open man.....except for that MLB that can cover the entire fucking field. You know the one.....he's the one that's never on my fucking team. Yes, I suck at this game. But this is just not fun. When I sucked with Temple at least I was having fun.

Just to get the facts straight you do have that MLB... he is on your South Florida team, or at least that is the guy I threw all my INTs against when I lost to you :biggrin:

As for the rest of your post... I agree with you on the MAC dynasty stopping, but I also didn't want to be that guy especially since I had no problems recruiting like everyone else.

But the rest of your post... well, it just shows that there is a difference between everyone's view of having fun and it is hard to get 10-12 people to agree on that view.

That stinks if that has been your experience in our leagues, because I would consider that cheesing. I have yet to experience any major problems with the other users in either league.

The flipside to that would be, your super fast CB or WR that you've moved will not be able to tackle or cover as well as a safety should, so there is still a weakness to be found. Generally when users manipulate the game there are drawbacks to it (save speed at every position or rocket catches, etc). But I would hope that our leagues are a little better than the win at all costs (cheating) of other nerd leagues out there.

I would've been happy in either the P10/B11 or MAC leagues, but I am kind of fond of the more realistic statistics we appear to be gaining with the new sliders.

Even if everyone is done before then? Just checking to see if that 10pm time is more to give people time to get stuff done, or you just won't be online til then.

FANATIC - if we don't advance til 10pm, we'll just have to try Tuesday/Wednesday.

Since fanatic mentioned this...

I haven't seen anyone do this either. And if you do see people doing this let me know (or Iron). And really I have not seen people move WRs to CBs/S. The only person that I know that runs a funky defensive scheme and that is buchtel, but he uses his regular defensive guys so I don't see that as cheesing. But there are ways to beat that as you did and a few other people.

The only thing that could be considered cheesing (not saying that I do) is the amount of people that use WRs as RBs, or playing RBs at FB.

But basically, especially in my dynasty. It is just that people have recruited speed at all those positions so it just seems like people have moved WRs to DBs.

If Bleed gets done I will advance before 10...If I'm online. I am not going to be online much before then, so I won't make any promises to do it before 10.
