I believe we have a chance to win it all, but will not be able to play down to our competition. Everyone knows in the tournament, you will have to beat great teams, and every other little sleeper team who for some reason you might play down to. I obviously hope we win it all, but with our lack of ability to put games away, and step up on the road against big teams scares me. Nonetheless, GO BUCKS!:oh:

When money is involved I think a little more rationally, but last year I had them in the final four and you see how that worked out for me.:(

I love Ohio State basketball but you took them how far last year ?:)

At times it has been lacking and yes Lewis has been struggling, but look at games at UNC and Wisky. Lewis and Harris stepped up at UNC and Butler brought us back at Wisky. Lewis also hit the game winner against UT. I am not saying it has been great, but if you look at Butler he has shown more emotion from MSU game on than I have seen him show since he was a frosh in high school. Also I think Lewis and Harris will step up come Sunday and on into tourney

I think you know by now How much of a disappointment Lewis has been to me this year And if he hasn't stepped up yet I don't know what is going to turn him on for tournament time.The same with Harris. I would rather see Cook in the lineup In place of either of these two guys. In some instances that I would rather see Hunter and DQ on the floor Rather than Harris and Lewis.


Yeah Twig will need to steal some minutes, but overall I think he has a done a good job of doing that. I know we arent going to agree here.:tongue2:

I am still trying to figure out why Matta keeps on substituting Twig for Oden rather than Hunter.

Keep in mind the guy that gets the most free throws is Oden. He has improved on the season, but is still not the greatest, but I meant down the stretch of games if we have a lead, we should be able to ice the game with the guys in the back court

Lewis & Conley have not really shot the lights out from the free-throw line. I have not looked at the percentages but I bet looses down from last year and he almost cost us the PSU game at their place.


Well Leak was a guy that knocked on all year, much like say Lewis this year. Maybe we will see a different Lewis come tourney time. As for Conley being young, that is why it is great to have another PG on the floor at the same time, and honestly Conley is one of them rare talents, that even tho he is young, and has athletic ability it is mental game and his direction that gets the job done out there.

Don't like to compare football to basketball but I sure hope that Lewis does start playing better.

If we can get somewhere close to home our fans will travel, don't think they will be wild and crazy tho...:tongue2:

The wild and crazy ones are the ones that travel. Most of the PSL people do not.

With all the above being said, I believe the Sunday game will give all of us a true measure of this team and how capable it is of going very deep into the tournament.

He really slams Matta's coaching. :yow1:

In all fairness he might just have a few good observations, like:

1. A close-up look at OSU on Wednesday night presented a team without a killer instinct, lacking a defined order of on-court leadership and devoid of any coherent direction from the coach.

2. Ron Lewis, Ivan Harris and Jamar Butler -- are actively combating the rookies. While the precocious Conley clearly has the most advanced basketball IQ on the team, he obviously doesn't have the green light from Matta to run the team.

That has been made clear repeatedly as the egocentric Lewis and generally clueless Harris have run amok, firing quick 3s and going one-on-one without consequence. If you had the potential No. 1 draft pick in the NBA on your side, would he not be the starting point of your offense every time down?

The problem is, Butler, Harris and Lewis have been ingrained in that mind-set for three years now and don't know any other way to play. Conley doesn't feel comfortable getting in their faces without his coach's backing, even though he clearly knows it's a dumb way to play when you have a dexterous, 7-foot aircraft carrier on the baseline.

Conley understands what a force he could be ... if he got more than nine shots a game, his season average: Said Conley on Wednesday night: "I told the team, 'If you've got to pass up open shots to get the ball to Greg, you've got to do it sometimes.' I hope everyone takes that to heart."

I think I voted elite-8 on a poll like this early in the season. I have no reason to change that vote until I see the seedings/draw.

I voted national championship game because i believe that when we play solid as a whole team, we are unstoppable. We have the dominant big man and we also have lights out shooters. Although i have seen some games that were alot closer than they should have been because of poor play, I think our guys will realize that they are playing for it all in the tourney and they will all step up their game, especially if it is Odens only season.

I am going with Final Four, optimistically. They are playing well and they are definitely hugely talented, I just think they need another year to put it all together and play as a great "team". There's so much youth out there, I just think they need a little more seasoning for a Championship run. I just hope that the guys like Oden and Conley stick around for another year. I would be really surprised if they don't make it to the Elite 8, and anything can happen. They certainly can beat anyone out there if they play smart and play their game. :oh:

I have been saying that we are destined for the sweet sixteen for some time now, but the heady after-effects of today's game led me to vote for the final four.

We'll see. I say 25% sweet sixteen, 10% anything earlier, 25% elite eight, 30% final four, and 10% championship game.

If this could occur, the sky could be the limit. That, and some officials that call fouls when a seven footer is allowed to be shoved across the creation.:wink2:

Of course we've had some bad games, but they were still games that we won, i mean we're ranked #1 for a reason here people...and also look at the 3 games that we lost

*They were all away, at 3 of the thoughest arenas to play at in the nation

*They were against the 3 best teams in the nation (after us of course) and uf and whisky are both considerably more experienced than us

*They were all played before Oden was even close to being 100%

*The games against whisky and unc were both decided by less than 10 points and unc was only able to secure a win because they dominated us in the post...the florida game was just horrible

These three losses have supplied us with lessons that cant be learned anywhere else and our team is just that much better for playing these games, i mean look at what happened the second time we played whisky...we beat them, not very convincingly, but it was #1 vs. #2 you'd expect it to come down to the last shot, wouldnt you?


i say the national championship game is THE Ohio State University Buckeyes vs. florida gaytors and I'm not really ready to make a prediction about the victor yet but im almost positive by tourney time my bracket will have OSU winning it all
