NCAA - slowly ruining football (rules changes - merged)

I'm glad JMU is challenging this rule because I want to hear the NCAA's explanation for it.
Don't take my guess as a defense to the rule, because if this is correct, it still doesn't make sense. Or it's just dumb. Or both.
But maybe they don't want teams hopping divisions too much. Wait until you're going to be good and join the bowl subdivision. Then fall back down to the FCS when you're going to be boof.
I can't see a team actually wanting to do that, though. So... I don't know. Seems like a really lame rule to me.

So you're saying tCun is dropping to FCS next year?

These rules seem arbitrary - what's the reason for not allowing newly promoted teams to compete in postseason?

They don’t want transitional teams to benefit in the two year transitional window where they maybe play half their old division schedule, or all of their old divisional conference schedule while simultaneously playing only three non conference games in their new division they are moving to.

The rule is to prevent teams from attempting to spontaneously bounce around divisions for financial gain because they see a window to grab a bowl game bag.

JMU however voluntarily skipped transition purgatory by moving directly into a full Sun Belt schedule. Their argument is they’ve actually earned it on a level playing field after electing to skip the hybrid schedule they could have taken. The NCAAs position is the rules are the rules, and if JMU felt this strongly they should have filed their petition last year before this season started.

It’s only an issue now because JMU is undefeated and technically in the running for being the highest ranking Group of 5 team in the final playoff ranking, meaning they would be in line for NY6 bowl.

Great job you spineless twats!

Now that ESPN got their ratings boost, I assume, now will they chase big ratings by actually reporting on those cheating cocksuckers?

Fuck you NCAA.

That's one possible angle, because otherwise i think NCAA and B1G sweep this under the carpet.
But ESPN, in its war in the conference, may pick at it now that their game is over.
