NCAA Football Improvements?

I am a huge fan of this game but honestly, I wouldn't look for major improvements or anything ground breaking until PS3. I think they will tinker with the game, but it will look similar to last year.
Yea especially since they already pushed the current console to its limits.

I believe EA had the idea that the PS3 would be out by the time NCAA 07 was up for production. Meaning they could make the game with new features and better graphics. Now, with the delays, they can't really go anywhere.

I don't know if EA was planning on making NCAA 07 for the PS2 and original Xbox also(?). But my impression, as heard from people on MaddenMania, when the PS3 was set for a spring release, they were only going to put NCAA 07 on Xbox 360 and PS3.

Now this makes things a little more difficult. They essentially have to produce two different games. Of course, there is always two different versions, Xbox and Playstation. But they are usually on the same technology as far as limits go.

Now they have develop a game for a system that is 6 months old(Xbox 360) and another game for a system that is 6 years old(PS2).

I never got into dynasty mode (my favorite part of the game) in '06 because of in-season recruiting, I thought it was poorly put together and a pain in the ass... I'd like to see them take that part of dynasty mode out

You didn't play the dynasty mode just b/c of inseason recruiting? You choose some guys in week 1, give points to who you like or who likes you in week 2, and then check in once a week to see if anyone wants to come visit. Takes a heck of a lot less time than the normal recruiting, and it makes more sense b/c it seems like your success/failure on the gridiron affects recruiting.

you don't have to do inseason recruiting. You can always just wait until the postseason. If its a pain, just put all your points on a couple of guys and don't check in until week 10 and see if they want to visit.

I didn't think they provided enough information about the recruits during the season to distinguish one from another. I guess I'm too much of a control freak and I was never sure what I was getting into during the season recruiting, in the old games I could always pick out a 3 star that would be just as good as a 5 star based on their measurables and it didn't seem possible to do that with the in season recruiting. Plus I never understood why only certain people were available and it was difficult sorting through the recruits...... in summation I just didn't like the way it was put together. If the in season recruiting was set up the same way as the normal kind I wouldn't have as much of a problem with it.

that makes more sense... I wished that putting tons of points on a kid would result in more early clarification of their measurables.

I think they compartmentalized it to make it simpler for themselves and the rest of us. It would be incredible if the next wave of recruits began after NLOID (heck, maybe you could even keep an eye on a few studs from the same HS as another recruit)... but I fear it would be overwhelming.

Maybe if they implemented the more complicated system only for the hypothetical purely coaching aspect of the game that some people have mentioned already.

One more random thought. I'd like to see the hb direct a little more realistic. You could run this play the entire game and the computer wouldn't stop it. Even if your playing a human opponet it's amazing how the defense will sit back watch the rb running straight around them, then realize yea he's going by me holy shit......One other thing that was already mentioned. "Impact Player" isn't a bad idea, but just because he's in the zone doesn't give him the power of jesus....It's a fact he will break at least the first tackle..Possibly more..If he's a qb..You've got Dan Marino for a down or two...
