Out of curiosity, what percentage of your recruits are battles with only the CPU teams? Are nearly all of your recruits against other users, or are there still a handful that aren't head to head?

The biggest dynasty I've done is 6 users, and that fizzled fast, so my experience of 3-4 is a bit different than this will be.

Just confirming what Iron said. In the Big10/Pac10 dynasty I would say about 20% of the recruits on my board are uncontested. But about 90% of the guys I really want are contested. The big reason is you share recruiting states.

In my dynasty where teams are spread out the percentage is probable more like 40-50% uncontested mainly due to people spread out and don't share the same 'pipeline' states. But again, the more highly touted the prospect, the more likely you will have recruiting battles.

Figure we wouldnt be competitive for a couple of years, but it would be fun building a team from the bottom.
Yeah, but you'll be fired after season 3, and someone else will have to wipe out the roster and start the whole process over again.

All this has happened before, and all this will happen again, and again, and again, and again, and...

*ECHO*We're not seriously picking teams right now are we? We have no idea what the rankings will be. Save tOSU, USC, UF, LSU, Bama its hard to tell who will be the elite teams.

So are we actually calling dibs here, or just allowing the peasants to suffer under the illusion of doing so?
I don't believe that I ever perpetuated the illusion. In fact, I've mentioned the manner in which we'll pick teams a couple of times now. So I was just going to let people twist until I determined the order of the non-commisioner draft. Which I won't be doing until the game comes out, and I know how many people can be in a dynasty and how many we have interested.

Probably my fault for starting this thread too early, but this super conference thing really has me pumped, and there was in increase in questions over the last couple of weeks, and I wanted to try to keep the 2009 threads as free from 2010 talk as possible.

I'm really hoping that they'll nix the 12 person limit considering that 'The Show' allows for 30 players. Obviously they're not made by the same company, but I'd like to have a comfortable margin to let whomever wants in, in.

Actually, why not hold the draft before the game comes out? We pretty much know what the teams will be rated. EA does a pretty decent job in rating the players. Someone always bitches that the fourth receiver for Buffalo runs excellent routes and EA screwed him, but still. We know who the fast guys are. We know pretty much where the teams will be ranked. I don't mind doing the draft early.
