NCAA Football 2006 video clips

For having "one of the most memorable moments in heisman race history"... more like something we all remember b/c he had no business winning the heisman...

Maybe they can work Eric Crouch into the back cover design too...

Purdue vs. ND. Heisman difficulty

It looks like Heisman difficulty will be the way to play this year. Watching the vids, there are any ridiculous Dlineman catching up with a WR downfield or anything like that. Also at one point the CPU QB for Purdue was 6 for 8 with 65 yards. So the drops "may" be fixed and the short passing game is utilized. Of course nothing is definite until we actually get the game, but this set of vids does look promising.

when did this EVER happen? i don't remember anything that ridiculous since like NCAA 2001 or so
I don't actually mean like all the way down the field but there are a lot of moments where a lineman can gain ground on a receiver when there should be no way it should occur. In an recent interview, EA finally admitted that there is a CPU speed cheat in Heisman difficulty in all previous versions to this year's. EA has stated that they removed it for NCAA '06 and that the CPU will just play smarter.

I think the reason Howard is on the cover is because they want to pimp the Race for the Heisman mode, but last year's winner can't be on the cover, and some of the more memorable recent ones (Ricky Williams, Jason White, Eric Crouch) are hardly glamorous and memorable, or, in Ricky's case, able to be found to sign the contract.

I heard Marcus Allen is doing some promotion and although I don't like USC, I'd buy it with Marcus on the cover. I'm a huge Chiefs fan so there you go. Eddie George wouldn't have been a bad choice, either. :)

I agree there are speed cheats. I don't know how many times a linebacker/lineman has caught my return man with 99 speed. I'll run straight across the field to turn the corner, and can't get around a guy with a #50 on his back. Makes punt returns for a TD almost impossible.

How about the only 2 time winner? That would make more sense, but I guess many in the younger gaming community would wonder Archie who?

True, I mean.. of course, I'd prefer Archie, but he's not as famous, because that's a long time ago and he didn't do much in the pros. He SHOULD be on the cover, though.

Howard's a weird choice, though, because he isn't THAT recent and he busted big time.. if Palmer wasn't on 2004's cover it would probably have been him.

ok, you were exagerrating obviously, and i agree it is annoying that you can't turn the corner with a 90+ spd RB, etc...........nice to see they recognized it.........i remember when it was TRULY ridiculous back in the day and you couldn't run the ball for more than 3 yards a pop, no such thing as a breakaway run, and DE's would track you down all day

I like the speed of the game, they finally have allowed speed burners to outrun defenders. I also like a lot of the fast juking thru defenders.

However I can't stand how often the in the zone player bounces off of tacklers. The first defender could miss at times, but there were multiple instances where two defenders closed on him and they bounced off one after the other, not phasing the RB at all.

I like the direction this game is going however. They can tweak the little things as long as the core gameplay at least allows for athleticism and standout players... whereas the old one had neither most of the time (they were ineffective due to the cheating catch-up speed the CPU defense had).
