Read option?
Triple option?
Slot option?

Play the numbers. If you have a favorable formation
And numbers in the box. Run the ball. The key is
Patience. You should try running a few pistol sets
The longer developing handoffs make you exercise
Patience.

This.

Don't hit that sprint button right away. Make some moves, find the right gap, and THEN hit the sprint for the burst through the middle of the defense. In my other OD, I've won the Heisman once with Justice Pickett (Maryland), and broke Barry Sanders single season rushing record with a player I recruited. I primarily run the ball, and then the passing game opens up for me.

OK thanks both of you, I'll try a game or two with a pistol team (I like San Jose State for some odd reason) and try that. I love to run the ball, I run more than I pass no matter what team I use. I started a season with Kent last night and ran really well against the FCS team, so I CAN run the ball, I just can't seem to do it out of the spread. I'll keep hacking at it.

it's a crap shoot for me, doesn't matter if I have numbers or not, sometimes the linemen just refuses to block..and I've found if they blitz, forget about it, LB's almost always get to you

 Forget about down field blocking unless you are running draw plays (which are HIGHLY effective).

Finally got my PS3 back fixed...now does anyone have any tips for running the ball out of the [censored]ing spread? In practice mode I reel off some good runs, but in the game situation I do nothing but get my ass raped for - yards every single play. Anyone have any tips? I can run fine out of other types of offenses, but the spread never works for me.

I like the read option... Even in my first year of OD with a QB that runs worse than Dan Marino ever did, sometimes you can run a long way.....

I just picked up the game on Monday. Using some good sliders and running the read option like a boss.

I find with very slow game speed you get some better animations that look realistic. Anyone else use this setting?

Anyone know if you can check the status of injuries in game anywhere? It is annoying as fuck to lose your top 2 halfbacks and not know why or for how long. Also, if it asks you if you want to sub a guy because someone is hurt for, say, a quarter, does it automatically put the guy back in, or do you have to adjust the depth chart? It is confusing as dick.

Pause the game, go to strategy menu, injury report should be near the bottom of the menu.

and yes, as soon as the player is 100% healthy it automatically subs them back in as starter as long as you didnt change something in your depth chart.
