NCAA 09 Online Dynasty (PS3 SIGNUPS & LEAGUE SETUP DISCUSSION)

Since mstevmac started the 360 one, I might as well start the PS3 one.

Looking for dedicated owners for a NCAA 09 Online Dynasty for the PS3. For now I just want to gather a list of potential players and their PS3 usernames so we can get a database started. So if there are any PS3 guys out there that plan on getting NCAA 09 near the release date please either post in this thread or PM me. If you have friends that would want in, but are not on BP just give me their info (PS3 Username) and I will add them to the list of potential players.

I don't actually own a PS3(yet), but I'll probably get one because of the online dynasty option. When I do buy a PS3, I'll sign up. I still have a month and a half, but didn't want to take up a league spot if it wasn't certain.

We only got about 6 weeks til release.

Still early, plus 2 guys from the main NCAA 09 thread that said they wanted in a PS3 league haven't responded here. And then there is a few other in my mind.

Well thankfully this isn't a sign up for a particular league. Right now just trying to get a list of players. Cuz everything will depend on how many people are interested. If we have more than 12 players we can then either have 2 leagues or have alternates in case people drop out.

Yeah, only problem with the PS3. Not as many players as the XBOX 360. But I did send some PMs this morning to people that mentioned interest in the NCAA master thread and a few people that played in the NCAA08 league we tried to have last year.

Once I get word back from those guys we will start discussing what we will want to do (Everyone in same conference/ multi-conference and if people all want to start with smaller/bigger schools) And if we want more players there are a few other places I know where I can find a guy or two if we need them.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Ok, we have 8 guys that are interested so far and we should be able to pull in more people as we get closer to the release date. So I am going to assume we will have about 10-12 guys for this league. But it is time to let the core guys discuss what we want for the Online Dynasty and then the late comers can decide if they want in or not.

So how do we want the league to run? Feel free to chime in on what parameters you want. Afterall if people are not happy they will be more likely to drop out if things get tough. So speak now or forever hold your peace.

Once things are settled I will include them in the first post.

First order of business is what kind of league we want. The options I see it is as follows (so if anyone else can think of a setup let us know):

Option #1 - Everyone in the same conference

Option #2 - We pick a set amount of conferences and split teams amongst those conferences. (example - 2 teams per BCS conference, or any other split)

Option #3 - Free for all. Any team in any conference (like how the BP XBOX 360 league is doing)

Option #4 - Free for all. But we limit the teams in some way. (Either by team score, or no Top 25 teams)

This is to start the conversation as if we eliminate the League types we can move on to sorting out the specifics (ie what conferences or what limits)

My idea of the perfect online dynasty would be to play everyone in the league as often as possible. So I vote for everyone being in the same league and that league having a round robin schedule.

If we want BCS conferences then that means the Big East or Pac-10.
If we want smaller conferences then that means the Mountain West, WAC, and Sun Belt.

I prefer to start with smaller conference teams


Regardless of how else we pick teams there should be no Ohio State, and I would actually prefer to not have any MAC schools picked either. That way Ohio State can continue to dominate recruiting in the Midwest and I think that Illinois might have a shot.
