NBC Comedy: The Office, Parks & Recreation, 30 Rock, Community

I hate 30 Rock and have no idea why it get so much praise... Tina Fey just isn't funny to me. She wasn't funny on SNL either... same with Tracy Morgan...
I hated Tracy Morgan on SNL, and was unimpressed with Tina Fey, but that's a terrible measuring stick. Nearly everyone is unwatchable on that laugh-free zone. They couldn't even recreate Will Ferrell's celebrity jeopardy in the last 5-10 years with such a simple script.

I thought Amy Poeller was very unfunny on SNL & movies (which are almost always worse than unwatchable SNL), but she is great on Parks.

I know a lot of people that like it as well, but I've had trouble getting into it. Probably because I've only watched it sporadically and don't really know the characters. I'll probably rent the dvds at some point when I find the time because I do really like Tina Fey and Tracy Morgan.
I watched it when it premiered and didn't really care for it. I went back when the office started going down hill, watched back episodes on Netflix and was hooked.

Both Parks & 30 Rock take some time to get into their characters (vs quickly accessible Office, Arrested Development... and somewhat Community, which has lots of layers but is still quite funny when you miss the subtle, deeper references)

Parks was just alright in season one. It wasn't a show I would highly recommend, just something decent to fill that time. The second season really took it to another level and made it a very good comedy.

The wife didn't really like 30 Rock either, plus when it debuted, there were two SNL type of shows, and we chose Studio 60 (due to Aaron Sorkin & Bradley Whitford) and didn't want to watch both. We chose very badly

Why is that?
The studios often do this with movies and TV shows, particularly the former. I just thought I'd give people a heads up because The Office has been a permanent fixture of Netflix streaming for as long as I can remember.
