NBA Discussion (Official Thread)

Probably not, since Golden State didn't win it in 1976, Boston did:

However, I can name Rick Berry.
Off by a year...whatevs

I hope GS loses... if they do they are the biggest disgrace to ever play in the NBA. No one has ever had a team like this to span 5 years.

To lose 1 series was a joke but to lose 2 would be insane.

They've got 0 championships to me.

2015- beat a kyrie and kevin love absent team
2016- lost lol
2017- Durant
2018- Durant

They have Never earned a championship. Not 1.

How any of these GS guys can feel successful is beyond me. They're nothing.

I don't like 'em either, but that's as ridiculous a post as I've read in a long time:

Care to say why? With that roster they should win it every year!
It's sports. There's chemistry, injuries, the cumulative fatigue of playing extra games year after year, and, heaven forbid, other teams with good competitive players and coaches too. The argument that they're so individually great that none of their titles count because they only won 3 out of 4 or maybe 5 if they don't come back this season is ridiculous. Does Ohio State's 2014 natty not count because their ludicrously talented 2015 team didn't repeat?

2015 is one of the biggest flops we've ever had and same goes for 1998. Why? Because we were the best both years and blew it.

Same for GS. They should win every year as they are assmbled. EVERY YEAR and the fact they haven't means they are on the verge of being the biggest disappointment IMO ever.

They had max level players taking huge pay cuts to rig championships so I do not want to hear anything about how they've earned any of their titles.

Can't wait until Durant comes back for the next game and scores 47 to blow the Raps out in Toronto, then GS wins the next two (game 7 in OT), then he re-signs and some other superstar takes a paycut to sign on for an easy ring and the GS dynasty steams on in this utter joke of a league.

In a way, I begrudgingly respect GS because they were a doormat franchise for decades before smart drafting landed them Curry, Thompson and Green. Then they go out and sign another transcendent player to make themselves into a fucking deathstar. This ain't a blueblood franchise that bought a bunch of titles. They got a good thing rolling, developed a culture of excellence over a very short period that other stars want to be a part of for much less money than they could get elsewhere. It ain't Miami having three guys collude years in advance to join forces. They, really, did it in a grass roots kinda way.

That said, they are immensely dislikable because of their style of play, attitudes and general smugness. But, this just seems like it's set up for Steph and Durant to hero ball them to another ring. I hope I'm wrong, because Kawhi is one of the very few likable stars in this cesspool league.
