NBA Discussion (Official Thread)

I know I'm a broken record, but can't stand the 'gutsy' and 'adversity' storylines pushed every time Golden State doesn't blow someone out.

Even without Durant they're the best team in the league, as evidenced by easy wins and fools trying to convince everyone that they were better without him.
Let’s be honest, they don’t need Durant. Last nights game showed why the LA version of Wilt made the Lakers unstoppable that year with Boogie squeezing boards and setting up shooters. With a year of that if he could stay healthy they’d win 75/82 without Durant.

The absolute best collection of total assholes to go on an all-time run in professional sports history. Even a milquetoast superstar like Klay transforms into a complete POS just for being a part of this dynasty. Today’s NBA is just the worst.

Well the idea of a Toronto win was fun while it lasted
I am casually following the finals and decided to check in on game two in the middle of the game. The score was 59-52 Toronto, and I'm thinking "they have a chance to hold home court and go up 2-nothing".

GS then scores 20 straight, a record for any team in the Finals. That's what I get for watching.

I’m supposed to be impressed by this Steph game? When I watched LeBron do this in 3 out of the Cavs last 4 Finals? Bunch of high usage, but amazing plays, carrying a team. And he wasn’t doing it against scrub Kyle Lowry or Fat Van Vleet.

Of course you’d then get the “bUt hE had 9 tUrnOvers” stuff. Fuck Steph.

(guy can shoot though)

The only problem that I can see with this if they institute it based on age The really good kids will just go to Europe rather than to "waste" a year in college.

Kenyon Martin Jr to bypass college, pursue professional options

Kenyon Martin Jr., the son of former NBA player Kenyon Martin, is bypassing college basketball at Vanderbilt to pursue professional options, he tells 247Sports.

Martin, a 6-foot-6, 195-pound power forward, told 247Sports that he's yet to sign a professional deal. Martin committed to Vanderbilt on May 5th and signed a Letter of Intent shortly after. Martin has informed Vanderbilt of his decision, a source told 247Sports.

Martin is the second high school prospect in as many weeks to turn down college for a professional route. Last week five-star recruit RJ Hampton opted to sign a deal with the New Zealand Breakers, of the NBL, rather than play college basketball at Kansas.
