Navy 46, Notre Dame 44 (final, 3OT)

It is a little known rule of coaching (similar to Newton's Law) that in the third year of a coach's tenure, success or failure is completely due to the previous coach. Thus, even as Ty Willingham is totally responsible for the debacle at Notre Dame, Charley gets total credit for the success of the New England Patriots' offense. I am surprised that someone hasn't recognized this previously.

Leave us not forget, the Genius has set up the Irish for an early round draft pick because of their number of losses....Brilliant!!!!!

The only entities unhappy with Charlie are the ten rolls of toilet paper he uses per dump.:mummy:

ESPN - Schlabach: On (and off) the Mark - College Football

When Navy coach Paul Johnson addressed his football team Saturday morning, he told the Midshipmen they had to do three things to beat Notre Dame for the first time in 44 years.

"I told them, 'Believe you can win. Believe you can win. Believe you can win,'" Johnson said Sunday.

If the Midshipmen needed to be reminded of their 43-game losing streak to the Fighting Irish, the longest drought against one opponent in NCAA history, they got it when their team buses stopped at a toll booth outside South Bend, Ind., only hours before the game at Notre Dame Stadium.

A Fighting Irish fan in a car next to the buses rolled down his window and taunted the Midshipmen.

"This car pulled up beside us and this guy was hanging out the window, yelling, "Forty-four in a row! Forty-four in a row!" Johnson said. "I just started laughing. It was a grown man falling out of his window."
Notre Dame fans taunting the men of our Armed Forces.

You stay classy, Domers.

South Bend Tribune: When will the Irish ship come in?

"I'm going to be here a long time," Weis politely retorted when it was pointed out Sunday that his overall record (20-14) was getting close to the one that helped get predecessor Tyrone Willingham purged (21-15) after three seasons.

"I'll be judged by what happens when I leave," Weis continued. "So let's see where I am when I walk out that door."
Some quality Weis quotes in this article, He's not arrogant, he's mis-understood!

Hey, I'll be the first to rip on the domers, but I don't really have a problem with some good natured smack being thrown around. Just because it's the Naval Academy doesn't mean that they should be completely hands off and treated with kid gloves, and it doesn't sound like that incident veered into the disrespectful, threatening or profane.

I guess what I find truly ridiculous is that it was a grown man doing it. Do that at 19? All good fun. Do that at 29? Time to grow up. Do that at 39? You're making a fool of yourself.

Debarred Lawyer Robert Gilleran is my favorite. :(

He does everything by the numbers. :tongue2:

Somehow I have the feeling that if Robert was on the Titantic he would have been helping rearrange the deck chairs while telling everyone what a great job the captain was doing.

Wow, I didn't actually read those until now, that guy has to be high, or maybe he just woke out of a coma or something...

charlie, corwin, and their staffs have done a fine job at notre dame and will bring many national championships in years to come, much sooner than anyone expects.

What the hell? Has he actually seen his team on the field? How can you look at anything there and say anyone has done a "fine job" other than maybe the guy who dresses up as the Leprachaun?

Edit: Aah, found more wisdom by this guy attacking usc: Scott Wolf inside USC we need someone who posts everything by number here :(
