NASCAR (Official Thread)

I don't remember how many, if any, Nascar fans we have here..

but has anyone been following the Charlie Foxtrot that's been going on in Nascar since the Richmond race?

The short story for those that don't know is...with 6 laps to go, 2 drivers who were on the bubble of making the chase (Newman and Gordon) looked like they were going to make it as long as the race stayed green and Truex Jr and Logano would be out.

All of a sudden Bowyer spins out randomly to bring out the caution, 3 laps later the checkered flag waves and Gordon and Newman are out and Truex and Logano are in. Clint Bowyer is a teammate of Truex Jr. There are radio conversations that can be found that suggest Bowyer's spin was intentional as well as other fixing that allowed Logano get in the chase over Gordon.

Nascar handed out penalties to Truex Jr that kicked him out of the chase and put Newman in. Most feel (including me) this was a half assed attempt and wonder why the person who started it all (Bowyer) wasn't affected at all.

Well now, sounds like the story isn't over as Nascar is now looking into conversations with Logano for more race fixing..if they penalize Logano any it could put Gordon in the chase

I feel sorry for the gamblers who placed bets on finishing positions (last race) with sportsbooks and in Vegas.

I'm listening to the team radio on 'FOX Sports Live' with David Gilliland's team and it's blatant.

It's been happening for decades, but not this public.

I think there's a difference between helping out a teammate and pure race manipulation like what went on Saturday night

and the chase has been only going on for what 8 or 9 years?

Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Michigan Wolverines inspired Chevy unveiled

Earnhardt’s car will be decked out in Michigan colors for the Pure Michigan 400 on Aug. 28 at the Michigan International Speedway, and it is just the beginning of a partnership between the Big Ten school and Axalta that was announced in March.

I'm hoping for a typical scUM finish, i.e. a loser.
