Name, Image, & Likeness (NIL) at tOSU

I totally get your reservations, and their solve to that is that they are allotting 100 player ambassadors who will market the game and earn bigger NIL (eg. The star players) - Denzel Burke being one of them.

11,000 players at $670/per - with no player performance strings attached imo is fair for the players and the gamers. There’s plenty of lineman and even playmakers at lower tier schools that get nothing as it is. As a gamer, I couldn’t care less if a player holds out - I’ll just create them from the generic player graphics they will be loaded with. Then it’s just the player losing out, not me.

I agree with all of what you said, and still side with @pnuts34. EA is going to easily clear a billion in profit on this game.

I think Madden 23 was well over $2 billion in revenue. This game will be bigger too. I know revenue isn't profit, but most of that is profit considering Madden 23 was basically the same as Madden 22.

That’s what I’m saying! This game hasn’t come out in 10yrs, it will sell like crazy across all platforms. $600 is peanuts, even for the lower tier guys! Like I said, even giving these kids $5000 would be a drop in the bucket. Bowl Games give these kids more than $600 in swag, and that even the 3rd tier bowls. EA dropped the ball on this one, I hope kids next year hold out. Especially when they see how much money they’ll be making EA

Yup. It's gonna be insane. The last NCAA game that was released is still being sold used for hundreds of dollars. People are making a living on YouTube by playing it. lol

I ninja edited you btw.

I definitely see both sides of the “coin”. I guess the players lost their position in this battle with the game still releasing regardless of who opts-in.

What I think would be great is to have contingencies attached to the agreement that if the game generates $X in profits, the players will be paid additionally.

I haven't played video games in about 15yrs but I'm totally going to buy a new system and this game when it comes out. Imagine how many other people like me are out there along with all of the every game freaks. Beaucoup money coming

I'm in a similar situation, I bought a PS4 (or 5, fuck, I don't care) for a wrestling game, and with great hope that NCAA would come out. All of us Atari 2600 kids have the disposable income.
