I like those stats but to be fair you should post the offensive stats as well.

ND Offensive Stats are a bit misleading due to their competition. Please post the defensive rankings of their opponents as well. It is the same for us but we did play against Texas and Penn State which change our offensive stats. The key to the game is can OSU stop the Brady Quinn deep jump ball. I can not tell you how many times this year I have seen him just throw it up.

NDC, I agree that CW is a very good coach and will probably be returning ND to national prominence (although I don't know what he was thinking when he went for 4th and 4 at midfield the other night)

Anyway, could somebody PLEASE buy the man a handkerchief?!

Well if this OSU v ND BCS Showdown does happen someone already added fuel to the fire. This morning on ESPN Radio' Mike and Mike in the morning Mike Golic (A ND Grad) stated that there's no doubt in his mind that Notre Dame would kick Ohio State's butt.

Sorry Mike but I'm not sure that No Defense can keep up offensively once Troy and the boys start rolling our defense will take care of business.

I don't "hate" Notre Dame, but they are one of the "media darlings" along with Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma and USC. If it were up to the media these teams can do no wrong. I would love to see a game between the Buckeyes and Irish. It sucks that Oregon will be the odd team out if this game does happen but hey, next time win at least a share of your conference and you might be considered.

Chief, I am pleased that you are here and contributing and I admire your new restraint. I am convinced that your rep witll be up there with HighLonesome, methomps and some of the other "enemy" soon enough at this pace.

Year in and out, Notre Dame has played a schedule as tough or tougher than Ohio State, even if it does space tough games with easy ones and avoid the top to bottom strength of the Big 10.

But it's not about Notre Dame. It's about the way the media react to Notre Dame. My dislike is not personal toward you or any other fan. I just hate all this "America's team" crap and the media bias toward them.

When I heard "Mumbles" slurring his way across this America's team crap on ESPN, I wondered how any former coach could have such low ethics? I realized then that I put Notre Dame and TSUN in the same basket and I really want AJ Hawk and the boys to kick the living daylights out of them.

It's not personal. I just refuse to join the looney parade and support a team that I believe is a mid-major, afraid to join a real conference, and unjustly being treated specially.

When they get treated exactly like the Buckeyes, they'll have my respect and not before.

Anybody see Lou Hotlz on college gameday final? Saying how Notre Dame would play Oregon, because they wouldn't want to play tOSU. And the fact that he had been there, at bowl games, and ND will get to choose. Everybody laughed at him, then said that Notre Dame was scared of Ohio State.

I hate to break this to you, but because of the total train wrecks that are Illinois and Northwestern; our defensive SoS is actually lower than ND's.

Average rank of opposing Defenses: (Total Defense)

ND: __66.45
OSU:__68.00

I wonder how much this could change if UCLA puts up some big numbers on USC, dropping they're ranking..I'm not a stats guru so it's just me pondering the question.
