My Ginn at QB Bet

As many of you probably know, I had bet that Ginn would not see any time at QB, and even said he wouldn't take a snap at QB. Well, he did...one frickin' snap as a decoy play. So, I lost the bet (with GoodGuy, IIRC). Now, there was some discussion as to what to final bet agreement actually was (stalker Thump could probably did it up), but my understanding was a $50 cash donation to BP (which I'll do upon my return from the mainland next week), a month without posting other than making recruit updates, and changing my sig to "I lost to GoodGuy" after the bowl game. I honor my bets, but I also look at the intent. Some, including GoodGuy, thought that Ginn would get more action than a single token snap. Since there was no way to bet other than he will or will not take a snap at QB, I techincally lost the bet but really didn't lose on my intitial intent, which was that Ginn would not be used as a weapon at QB as some others thought. So, here's what I'm going to do the fulfill my bet:

1. Donate the $50 to BP as stipulated.

2. Go two weeks--not a month--without posting (other than recruit updates). This will be done in two one-week periods.

3. I'm change my sig (actually add a line to the sig) showing I did lose the bet to GoodGuy, but it will be from now up until the bowl game, not after the bowl game onward.

My first one-week on-post period will run from tomorrow (Nov 22) through next Monday (Nov 28) inclusive. The second one-week no-post period will be done sometime before the end of the year.

The funny thing about all of this...

when watching that game, after Ginn lined up at QB and ran the ball I thought to myself..."wow thats the first time this season..."

then just seconds later..."wasn't there some sort of bet between the guys on BP about ginn lining up at QB?"

then of course right after the game, checking the forums...a few others brought it up.

Anyways, quite upstanding on your part to honor the bet, even though the guidelines were pretty thin.

Maybe you should make the second week the week before signing day since all the posting you would be doing would be recruiting news anyway. We'll miss you big guy. I can't wait to read Thump's "Mili is a homo" thread tomorrow. :p

The bet was clear that TG wouldn't take 1 snap at QB. Thats why jwins and myself jumped on it, and you made it clear that you meant "take 1 snap at QB", not "utilize Ginn in the QB role".

Also, it's pretty lame that you're taking 1 week of your punishment on the week that you are going to be without internet access. Why not take the rest of the punishment while you are sleeping?

This is retarded...they win on a technicality. I guess this is why you need to more carefully word bets, but I think you should call "bull crap" and set up an anonymous poll on general discussion to determine if you actually lost or not. Majority rules.

as bn27 alluded to, I don't think any of us ever expected to see meaningful time for Ginn at QB. We merely thought it was a pretty outlandish statement to guarantee such would never, ever happen outside of a (mis)direct snap to Ginn.

actually iirc it was me that you bet first that ginn would not take a snap at qb. the only stipulations in "our" bet was that he couldn't be lined up at tb and get the direct snap. that he had to be lined up at qb and receive the snap. he was, you lost . you owe me 50 vcash or im gonna break your vkneecaps with my vbaseball bat :p. i remember goodguy jumping on the bandwagon later in the thread but don't remember the bet between you 2. 2 weeks not posting... not sure i could handle that one :p. you sir are a tougher man than i hehe.

i was in the bahamas during that game and watched it as soon as i got home from the airport at 2am. the moment i saw that play i thought of that bet *snickers*.

How predictable! When Mili had a bet that Chris Gamble will not go in the first round..and chris gamble was drafted as the 28th or 29th pick, he came back with an explanation that it was almost second round! Now, he says that Ted Ginn took only frickin snap..May be he should have said that Teddy Ginn won't take more than 5 snaps at QB position or something like that..If Mili ever honors a bet completely then may be I will donate 50$ to BP..but then I could also come out and say Mili has honored only one fricking bet till now and say that I am going to give BP 50 dollars in 10 different payments ..
Mili is a great poster and adds a lot to this site but man you got to think before making those outrageous bets...Thanks for the red rubies now!
