Most Underrated Movies (merged)

Forgot to Add

The 2002 adaption of The Count of Monte Cristo
Not too much like the book but an extremely well done movie none the less.

On a side note, I heard a rumor when the movie first came out that the bigger Liberal media outlets tore the movie apart because it mentions God so much. I didn't put much stock in it.
Did a search just now and guess what critics gave it the worst reviews......
Guess that's for another debate another day

Well the liberal media also tried to tear apart the Passion of the Christ for anti-semitism... which was absurd. If anything, the impact of that movie left everyone speechless and most feeling at least partially responsible. But I suppose it did portray real facts, such as jewish pharisees secretly arresting Jesus one night which would lead to his death the next day. I guess if you are one of the overly sensitive PC types, you could be offended by that one, but the reality of the story is that everyone is responsible for Him having to die.

BTW, before I got off track, that is the most moving movie I will probably ever see... and many probably have not seen it. If you have any christian background at all (or maybe even if not) you really should see that movie. Nothing has ever come close to depicting the sacrifice, love, and brutality of Jesus' death like that.

The Tao of Steve- Great flick. Be desireless, be excellent and be gone.
Someone mentioned this movie - I went to high school with the lead actress, Greer Goodman (her sister Jenniphr directed). She's very bright and personable.

BTW, the movie is very good, and deserves to be better known.

Has anyone seen Team America: World Police? I wouldn't call it one of my favorites, but it's definitely worth a watch for two scenes in particular.

One of my favorite monologues: (PROFANITY ALERT!)

See, there's three kinds of people: dicks, pussies, and assholes. Pussies think everyone can get along, and dicks just want to fuck all the time without thinking it through. But then you got your assholes, Chuck. And all the assholes want us to shit all over everything! So, pussies may get mad at dicks once in a while, because pussies get fucked by dicks. But dicks also fuck assholes, Chuck. And if they didn't fuck the assholes, you know what you'd get? You'd get your dick and your pussy all covered in shit!

Don't know if this was mentioned but the movie Barbarians at the Gates is a lesser known movie that I still love...James Garner is great in that movie.

I saw a silent film with Lon Chaney last week. It was called "The Unknown", and he was a criminal hiding out in the circus, pretending to have no arms so he couldn't be ID'd by fingerprints. He actually does things like drinking wine and lighting cigarettes using only his feet. The movie was OK, but the stuff he was doing was amazing.

Of course, this also brings to mind Daniel Day-Lewis in "My Left Foot".
