I don't know if the mahavishnu Orchestra was obscure... all-world and world-famous musicians! do you have "Between Nothingness and Eternity"? One of the best live albums ever!

Green Jelly(formerly green jello)- Little Pig was the only song on thier album that was ever played, and it had a video on MtV for a bit. It was hard rock, not the best song but it was certainly obscure.
